MILWAUKEE After falling 2.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks will now be without both of their starting forwards -- Ersan Ilyasova (back spasms) and Carlos Delfino (groin) -- for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Bucks coach Scott Skiles said that both players are considered day-to-day. "I don't think (head athletic trainer) Marc (Boff) felt like either one was overly serious to miss multiple days, but we'll see," Skiles said. "You never know." Delfino was hurt in the second quarter of Milwaukee's Monday night loss in New York. While attempting to go for a steal, Delfino "tweaked his groin" and did not return. The exact timing of when Ilyasova's injury occurred is not known. In those starting spots will be newly acquired big man Ekpe Udoh, who was part of the trade that brought Monta Ellis to Milwaukee, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. "Both guys are good individual defenders and good team defenders," Skiles said of Udoh and Mbah a Moute. "We'll have two big guys up front. We've struggled rebounding the ball. We're hoping to get a little more size in the lineup. Hopefully we can rebound it better." Having Mbah a Moute and Udoh in the starting lineup will be an unquestioned defensive upgrade for the Bucks, but neither player can deliver offensively what Ilyasova and Delfino can. Milwaukee is currently the ninth seed in the East with a 22-27 record entering play Tuesday. Follow Paul Imig on Twitter.

Ellis finally shows off shooting touch for Bucks

MILWAUKEE One hour before his Bucks faced Atlanta Tuesday night, coach Scott Skiles called it. He knew Monta Ellis was ready for a breakout game in a Milwaukee uniform -- that it would happen "at any moment" -- and he was right. After struggling through his first six games with the Bucks, Ellis finally looked like the player who seemingly scored at will for six-plus seasons...

Jennings and Ellis aim co-exist in backcourt

MILWAUKEE -- Brandon Jennings is well aware that not everyone believes he and Monta Ellis can form a solid backcourt for the Bucks. Two undersized guards known for their scoring abilities on a Milwaukee team that now lacks a true center without Andrew Bogut. It sounds quite familiar to the Golden State teams that Ellis played on, where he and Stephen Curry were never able to turn...

Nets' back-up plans include Kevin Garnett, Ersan Ilyasova

First LeBron James said no to the New Jersey Nets, followed by Carmelo Anthony. Then Dwight Howard opted back in down in Orlando, and it appears Deron Williams can't get out of there fast enough either. So what's next for the re-branded Brooklyn Nets as they make their way to home of Biggie Smalls and owner Jay-Z next season?  How about Kevin Garnett and Ersan Ilyasova....
