Just days after West was supposedly not a target for a backup guard, Ainge has expressed some interest in bringing back the former Celtic.
Ainge on @weei said Delonte West is on team’s list of potential names to add, but expresses hesitation given time away from game.

Personally, off-court issues aside, I think adding West (again) can only help the C's depleted back court. Celtics fans and staff already know what he is made of, and he has history of playing alongside Pierce, Garnett, and Rajon Rondo. This would indeed be a high risk pickup for obvious reasons.

After winning eight of their last nine games before the All-Star break, the Celtics seemed to be primed for a playoff run. Despite losing Rajon Rondo, Leandro Barbosa, and Jared Sullinger for the rest of the season, the remaining players on the C’s roster are playing at a high level and look determined to stay the course without these key pieces. However with only 10 players left...
During his weekly appearance on “The Big Show” Thursday, Celtics GM Danny Ainge admitted the Celtics are looking at former Boston guard, Delonte West. After recently backing out of his D-League contract with the Texas Legends, West – who averaged 8.5 points, 3.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in four years with the Celtics, is looking for work.
According to WEEI:
The Grizzlies are 4-3 since trading Rudy Gay to the Raptors.
