Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau says Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich and Derrick Rose will sit out Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat on Friday night. Thibodeau spoke at the team's morning shootaround. Deng became sick during the first-round series against Brooklyn and has been dealing with complications stemming from a spinal tap. He will miss his fifth straight game, while Hinrich will sit out his sixth in a row because of a bruised left calf. The veteran guard underwent a second MRI this week. Thibodeau said the results were ''basically'' the same as the first, although Hinrich's feeling better. Rose has not played since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in last year's playoffs. The series is tied 1-1.

NBA Playoffs Preview: Nets vs. Bulls

Two years ago, the Bulls reached the Eastern Conference Finals.  Derrick Rose’s major ACL injury prevented the Bulls from doing much in last year’s playoffs.  For right now, Rose remains out until he suggests otherwise.  This will be the Nets’ first shot at it with their new squad. What Brooklyn needs to do to win: If the Nets win the rebounding battle, they should win...

Bulls fan sues Derrick Rose for missing 2013 NBA season

We've posted some pretty crazy NBA-related lawsuits over the years but this one from man in Peoria, Illinois might take the cake as the strangest. The man's name is Matthew Thompson and he suing Bulls star guard Derrick Rose for not playing in the 2013 regular season which caused Thompson, "mental breakdowns" and "stress":A 25 year old Peoria Illinois man...

Bulls Won’t Rule Out Derrick Rose Returning for Playoffs

This is why fat guys are suing Derrick Rose for depression. I don’t think the majority of people have a real problem with Rose sitting out for the entire year. A lot of people think it is the smart way to go. I believe fans get annoyed though, when the Bulls release comments like this. “He’s most likely out but you never know,” Thibodeau said. “The playoffs are stretched...

The Assist: Derrick Rose’s girlfriend Mieka Reese & their son PJ hit up the final Bulls home game of the regular season

Derrick Rose’s son PJ is adorable. Earlier this week, DRose’s girlfriend Mieka Reese hit up the Bulls game with one of Lil Wayne’s baby mama’s Sarah Vivan and of course, photos were placed on Instagram. Mieka is the one on the right in the photo of the two ladies standing.   In other DRose news, no word if he’ll be back for the playoffs yet but one irate fan is...

Derrick Rose being sued for missing NBA Season

Derrick Rose news? I  “DONNNNNNNNN’TTTTTT CARRRRRRRRREEEEEEEE” (credit Jay Cutler) when it comes to Derrick Rose return/rehabilitation coverage. I’ve been nauseated by the story for over a month already. Seriously, right now, I don’t want to even hear the name Derrick Rose until Bulls Media Day in October. But then I stumbled across this not quite amusing but possibly...

Nets Not Game Planning For Derrick Rose

Though Tom Thibodeau says “there’s always a possibility” that Derrick Rose, who missed all 82 regular season games, could appear in the playoffs, the Brooklyn Nets are not game planning for the chance that the Bulls guard could play. According to Newsday: The Nets are going about their business as if things aren’t going to change and Rose still will be out. “We are just...

Rose's absence requires answers

No more excuses. The time for Derrick Rose to stand up and come forward is right now. That became self-evident Saturday night, when a Chicago Bulls team lacking its star player and worn weary by a season without him was utterly overwhelmed by the Brooklyn Nets, 106-89, in the opener of their seven-game series. So much wrong with this Bulls team was on display. Head coach Tom Thibodeau...

Looking at Game #1 of the Bulls-Nets series

With Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah likely out due to injury, Luol Deng will be leading the way for the Bulls on Brooklyn this evening     Well, it's finally here. The playoff game the Nets have been waiting to play for nearly seven years now. And their opponent, the Chicago Bulls, are about as snake-bit by injuries as any team in the Eastern Conference...

Bulls' Rose out, Noah questionable

Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau ruled out point guard Derrick Rose for the opener of the Bulls' first-round series against Brooklyn on Saturday but left open the possibility Rose could play later in the postseason. Thibodeau also said the Bulls will determine Joakim Noah's availability for Game 1 before tip-off. Noah has battled plantar fasciitis in his right foot and played...

2013 Playoff Preview: Chicago Bulls v. Brooklyn Nets

Photo by Nathaniel S. Butler-NBAE via Getty Images Looming. It's a great word for this series considering that the shadow of Derrick Rose will be looming over this series at least until he decides to declare himself fit to play. It's like there  is a collective holding of breathe in the NBA waiting for Rose to return. The Bulls are used to it though. They know they need...

Not excited about Bulls vs. Nets NBA Playoffs, not one bit

Derrick Rose vs. Deron Williams. Three or four years ago I would have been all about that marquee point guard match-up in the NBA playoffs. Tonight, one won’t even play and the other is past his prime. Neither one of them comes even remotely close to earning their grossly exorbitant paycheck. That’s why the Chicago Bulls vs. the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA Playoffs means very little...

Sideshow Joakim Steals Home Court

How we will always remember him Tonight in Brooklyn, for the first time in this year's NBA Playoffs, the Bulls won a road playoff game, and they did it in classic post Derrick Rose fashion -- with a defensive effort that was positively suffocating, and enough to cover for erratic and inelegant offense. Joakim Noah's line looks ordinary -- 25 minutes, 11/9/3 with 2 blocks...
