Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has been the topic of so much speculation that there are plenty of NBA fans that would be good with not hearing his name mentioned for a few months.
That will be a unfulfilled request.
On Saturday, the Bulls will play the Brooklyn Nets in a winner-take-all Game 7 showdown.
The winner will advance to face the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
If the Bulls lose, Rose will spend the summer frustrated as poison darts will be shot at him from the world-at-large.
If the Bulls win, he will be under pressure to return to help his team face a Miami team that seems destined to run through Chicago like bad Mexican food.
Saturday, Rose provided a series of in-depth comments that shed some light into where he is at, how he is feeling, the pressure that he feels and what he has heard.

By now, many have assumed that the Bulls won't get their MVP back until next season, but the ailing former MVP isn't closing the door just yet on a return this season.
Derrick Rose refuses to pull the plug on returning to the Bulls this season, and as his team advances to face the Miami Heat in the second round, the question of whether the former MVP will be on the floor with his banged up team will only keep coming. Rose knows that answer but refuses to confirm it, according to a Yahoo! Sports report by Adrian Wojnarowski:
“Who knows?” Rose...
At the risk of being struck down I’m going to question the mental toughness of Chicago Bulls’ star Derrick Rose.
There are unwritten rules in sports: You don’t talk about a perfect while one is being pitched, you don’t hit a man below the belt without apologizing vehemently, never bet on a team from the Northwest in a big game, and don’t question a player that says they...
Derrick Rose has been cleared to play. That's not to say he'e been cleared like its breaking news, but more like in the past tense; it's old news now. Yet, the superstar said he will not play till he feels ready--which does not appear to be this season.
That hasn't stopped fans from wishing he was playing. Now a local Chicago news station has implored fans to let...
The drama surrounding Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rosecontinues, as the latest report – courtesy of TNT – is that one of the things that continue to keep the All-Star off the court is a lack of muscle memory.TNT sideline reporter Rachel Nichols said that Rose told her off-camera a few days ago that while he wants to return to the court, he doesn’t have his muscle memory...
The question all season for the Chicago Bulls. Even throughout the first round of the playoffs has been will Derrick Rose return. Now comes word per Yahoo Sports that sources close to Rose say he won’t return this season, period. The Bulls fought through seven games against the Brooklyn Nets to make it to round two. Even with injuries, the Bulls came together. Whether it was Joakim...
TNT's Rachel Nichols reported Thursday that Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose told her that muscle memory is holding him back from returning to the court from ACL surgery., http://juicedsportsblog.com/sports-news/news/report-muscle-memory-delaying-rose-return
The thing about this Derrick Rose situation with the Chicago Bulls has been why not just announce him out for the season? Rose obviously isn’t mentally where he needs to be to return to the court, despite being medically cleared months ago. So I have always wondered, why not just announce him out for the [...]
Last night after the Chicago Bulls lost to the Brooklyn Nets, I logged onto Facebook to find Derrick Rose being blasted in the majority of comments on my news feed. I lived in Chicago for three years, and the sentiments echoed in the posts being made by my friends that are Bulls fans mostly consisted of calling Rose a "p#ssy" for not suiting up and helping his team dispose...
Derrick Rose still has not ruled out a return this season for the Chicago Bulls, saying he could play in their Eastern Conference semifinal against the Miami Heat.
The 2011 NBA MVP will not play for Chicago in Game 1 against Miami on Monday night, nor will forward Luol Deng. Deng returned to a hospital for more tests, the Bulls said, and underwent a spinal tap to rule out viral...
The Chicago Bulls won’t have Loul Deng, Derrick Rose and possibly Kirk Hinrich in the lineup for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal against the Miami Heat on Monday, but Rose said his status is ”still up in the air. I might have a chance.”
The Chicago Bulls cannot afford to lose another guard while Derrick Rose continues to watch games from the bench. Nate Robinson, who is clearly well aware of that, fought through flu-like symptoms during a Game 6 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. He was seen throwing up into a trash can on the Bulls bench during a timeout.
In fact, the core of the Bulls roster seems to...
- Can anyone explain this Derrick Rose thing? So with the Bulls up 3-2 they have a chance to close out New Jersey in Chicago, knowing a loss sends this back to a game 7 in Jersey so this is basically a do or die game. Both Kirk Hinrich, who started at PG in place of Rose all year, and Luol Deng, probably the team's best perimeter defender, are out and in case you forget...
