Though he originally planned to join the Houston Rockets in the Las Vegas Summer League, Dionte Christmas decided not to interrupt a good thing and will remain with the Boston Celtics for the second straight week. He has not yet chosen to attend Celtics training camp, and reportedly would like “some sort of financial offer” before he commits to doing so. (Boston Herald)“Originally I was supposed to go to summer league here with Houston, but I like the situation here,” said Christmas, who stood out last week. “I didn’t make an actual commitment to Houston; I just told them it was up in the air. When I found out Boston was going to both, I felt it was just a great situation for me, so I figured I’d go to both Orlando and Vegas with them.”The 6-foot-5 guard from Temple is not locked into the regular Celtics training camp, but he’d like to play his way into some sort of financial offer from the club to get him there.“As of right now, they’re still having conversations with my agent,” he

What the Hell Happened to...Justin Reed?

He was just the second, second round draft pick Danny Ainge made in his tenure with the Celtics (the first was this guy).  He lead a ridiculous comeback in a preseason game against the Cavs that I'm not sure just how many people remember.  He may also be the last player to wear #9 (if it ever gets retired for Rajon Rondo some day).  But if you were a fan of the Celtics just...

Your Morning Dump… Where Chris Wilcox nearly killed himself watching the C’s

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  “My wife kept telling me, ‘You need to calm down, you need to calm down.’ Because I’m in front of the TV every night watching the game, you know?” explained Wilcox with a smile, knowing he undoubtedly...

Greg Stiemsma likely to be a Timberwolf

WEEI.com</a> According to a report from Darren Wolfson of ESPN, the Timberwolves expect to sign restricted free agent center Greg Stiemsma. Stiemsma, who averaged 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 55 games with the Celtics as a rookie in 2011-12, visited with the Timberwolves at the start of the free-agency period. Boston Celtics Las Vegas Summer League observations, Day 1: Fab Melo reveals promise, upside

My apologies for a summer league recap that’s a day late and a few dozen dollars short, but I had a men’s league game in Springfield (an hour away from my house) last night for which I had to leave as soon as the Celtics game ended. I realize there might be one or two of you who actually value my opinions on Boston’s youngsters, and to you I am truly sorry — not just because...

Kevin Garnett's Influence Motivates Brandon Bass, Other Celtics

Brandon Bass did not allow himself to be starstruck for long after joining the Celtics last season. He spent the first day in slight awe every time Paul Pierce brought up the ball or Ray Allen drained a jump shot, but by the second day, Bass had shed his wonderment. Still, he never lost his admiration for Kevin Garnett and the startling work ethic the 17-year veteran displayed during...

Comments from the other side - Hawks SL Bonus Edition

I came across a summer league game thread from yesterday's game thread and the comments were so good I just had to share.  It appears that Hawks fans are quite bitter over their losses to the Celtics. I guess losing to the dame team year after year after year will do that to you!  There aren't a lot of comments like there are for regular season, but what they lack in quantity...
