Ryan Kantor After Wednesday’s performance in a 25-point comeback against the Hornets, nobody deserves credit more than Kobe Bryant. It’s just surprising that the coach of the rival Boston Celtics was the one to dish it out. From LakerHolicz.com, Doc Rivers said that Kobe doesn’t always get the credit he deserves because his greatness was preceded Michael Jordan.
“I think because he followed Michael, he probably doesn’t get the due he deserves,” said Rivers. “What he’s doing right now, at his age, I watched last night because I watch most of New Orleans’ games for personal reasons, he’s playing at a different level himself.”

It’s hard to disagree. Kobe was compared to Michael Jordan to the point of ridiculousness for the first half of his career. Thankfully it has mostly subsided, but may make it easy to overlook the fact that he is one of five greatest shooting guards of all-time.
