Former President of Basketball Operations for the New York Knicks, Donnie Walsh, is pleased with the team’s signing of Tyson Chandler. Walsh, who is now a team consultant, praised the front-office for bringing Chandler to the Knicks and see them making a push for an NBA title.

New York Post: “I think Tyson is the perfect pickup for the Knicks and fills the biggest need for the team. It was a great job by Glen and may go down as one of the best pickups in the history of the Knicks. The trade was what the team absolutely needed to be a franchise with championships goals.’’

The Knicks now have one of the best front-courts in the NBA with Chandler, Stoudemire and Anthony. Although their defense is still not on the level of the top NBA teams, the addition of Chandler is surely a step in the right direction.

However, the front-office must now focus on improving its back-court. Landry Fields, Toney Douglas and Mike Bibby will be the only capable players in the back-court and the team needs upgrades at those positions.
