ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg updates the injury situation: * O'Neal, Dooling sit out: Both starting center Jermaine O'Neal and backup guard Keyon Dooling did not participate in Thursday's 90-minute practice session due to knee ailments. Rivers said it was more of a rest day for O'Neal (who appeared to be hobbled by a bothersome hamstring or knee in Wednesday's game), but deemed Dooling questionable for Friday's visit from the Bulls. "They're all questionable," Rivers quipped of his veteran team. "But, yes, I think Dooling is [questionable]. I think J.O. will go." Just what this team needs... another injury. Did anyone notice Dooling limping at any point during the Mavericks game? The Bulls all-world PG Derrick Rose missed Wednesday night's game because of turf toe. He's questionable for Friday night. The Bulls signed veteran Mike James from the D League.

Shaq eats soap after swearing on-air

Shaquille O'Neal has a few things to learn about this whole TV thing. One of the most important things? Learning what you can, and more importantly, cannot say on TV. Shaq made that mistake on Thursday night while appearing on TNT's Inside the NBA, when he uttered a four-letter word that begins with S as the show went to break. "You know who I blame for that s---?"...

Ainge Threatens Changes If Celtics Continue To Lose

OK so maybe the Boston Celtics haven't gotten out of the gates on the right foot in this shortened season but Celtics' GM Danny Ainge is not pleased at all with the team's performance so far. So displeased is Danny that he has threatened to make roster changes if Boston doesn't show marked improvement before the trading deadline. “I’m committed to the guys as...

Vote: Do Celtics Need to Trade a Member of 'The Big Four'?

In the autumn of 2007, the Boston Celtics were almost literally unstoppable. With the new nucleus of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, Boston opened the season going 29-3. Read that again -- 29-3. They didn't lose their fourth game until Jan. 9, which was their 33rd game of the season. This year, though Rajon Rondo's marked improvement makes him a member of the "...

Rajon Rondo's Scoring Outburst Signals That Celtics Are Already 'His Team' Despite Loss

There was a time when Rajon Rondo scoring 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting while hitting eight of his 12 free throw attempts would have been the greatest thing in the world, or at least the greatest thing in that little corner of the world that houses North Station. Back then, about two or three years ago, 24 points for Rondo would have meant just another 20-point scorer for the guys...

Boston Celtics Doc Rivers Needs Complete Game From Team Against Mavs

The Boston Celtics have had plenty issues this season. The team that is trying to make one last run to glory has had some serious issues in the early going and sit with a record of 4-4 for that reason. The main problem for Boston is they have yet to really put together a complete game at both ends of the floor. The first two games that saw Boston lose, the offense was solid, but...

Celtics lose to defending champ Mavs 100-95

The Celtics dropped their second in a row at home 100-95 against the defending champion Dallas Mavericks. Boston showed great resolve coming back from 13 down in the 3rd, but it wasn't enough. The Celtics are now 4-5 going into their matchup with arguably the best team in the NBA, the Chicago Bulls. Rondo was awesome as always for Boston with 24 points and 7 rebounds. He&...

Recap: C's comeback falls short

Pardon the super quick recap tonight, but aside from the third quarter, there wasn't a whole lot to talk about.  The Celtics came out of the box frigid, missing some makeable shots but also looking old and slow.   They found the fountain of youth in the third quarter, hitting on 11 of 19 shots and outscoring the Bulls by 11.  Mickael Pietrus' 3 with about 10 minutes...

Jason Terry: Rajon Rondo Is Only Celtics Player with Energy

Mavericks guard Jason Terry has never been shy about voicing his opinion or talking trash. Most of the time he talks before and after games, but Wednesday, he threw a jab at the Celtics during the game. While doing a halftime interview with ESPN, Terry complimented Rajon Rondo while blasting the rest of Boston’s roster. “He’s the only one with energy on their team...

Thoughts I thought – Celtics comeback falls short… again

Loul Deng and the Bulls got the better of Rajon Rondo and the Celtics tonight in Boston Some thoughts I thought while I watched the Celtics nearly pull another game out of their asses, but secretly knowing they wouldn’t This is starting to become a trend. Celtics look sloppy in the first half, Celtics find some fire in the second half, Celtics make run, Celtics come up short...
