Both possible lottery picks.— Mark Murphy (@Murf56) June 22, 2013It is interesting to see Boston schedule workouts with two guys slated to go nowhere near Boston’s #16 pick.Olynk was a standout player at Gonzaga. He averaged about 18 a game on a very impressive 68 TS%. He scored about 1.15 ppp and is a very efficient scorer for a big. He possess an excellent jump shot away from the rim with an uncanny ability to handle the ball effectively. Most mock drafts have him going somewhere in the 11-14 range, but should he slide down to 16, it’d be hard for the Celtics pass on him.Noguiera, a standout from Asefa Estudiantes in the ACB, didn’t play a whole lot last year nor did he put up mind boggling stats. Scouts love his length and potential to grow into his skinny frame. Last year he averaged 5.1 ppg in about 13 minutes but his pace adjusted per 40 stats are quite good, averaging about 15.1 ppg and 10.1 rpg. At 7’0, 220 lbs, he’s no Dwight Howard in terms of stature, but he has time to add muscle to his frame to help ease him into his time in the NBA. Most mocks have Noguiera as a late 1st-early 2nd round pick, but he’s an interesting kid that I’m not surprised the Celtics are taking a look at.On Thursday we can finally end obsessing over who Boston will pick and begin obsessing over whether or not it was the right pick. Until then, we have to sit through all of the endless workout rumors and take them with a grain of salt.
