As the new year begins, the rumors surrounding the Celtics and coveted bigs like DeMarcus Cousins can only get louder. Louder - that is - until the February trade deadline passes or until DMC is dealt to another team - whichever comes first. It is quite possible that Danny Ainge will come away empty handed or with a less-coveted player but a (serious) change, moving forward, is clearly in order if the C's are to re-emerge as contenders.
It's fun to imagine the potential of a Cousins acquisition and the exciting on-court tandem he could form with fellow Kentucky alum Rajon Rondo (assuming, of course, that Rondo isn't included in any deal for DMC). You can just see the electrifying alley-oops, can't you? For now, however, dreams of a Rondo-Cousins pairing will just have to be that - a dream. But as the saying goes, if you can dream it, you can achieve it, so who knows?
If this dream becomes reality, though, I call dibs on the handle copyright for, "Ro...

After missing a game against the Golden State Warriors and clearly being held back by injury against the Sacramento Kings, the injury woes continue for Rajon Rondo.
Rondo will sit out practice today:
Doc said he’ll let practice dictate whether Bradley will start vs. Memphis. Rajon Rondo (hip) will sit out practice; questionable for game.

Rajon Rondo and the Boston Celtics fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 93-83
Still looking affected by his hip injury, Rondo was unable to penetrate as well as he normally would. Played great help defense, but with Bradley off the floor he was unable to keep up with Conley's speed due to his hip. Jumper was completely off today, and made...

Wow. What is there to say? The Kings outplayed the Celtics the whole game, except for the second quarter which the Celtics won 31-30. The defense did not show up, allowing the Kings to shoot 53.7% from the field and 50% from 3. DeMarcus Cousins got his first triple-double. Jason Thompson, Isiah Thomas, and John Salmons scored over 20 points for the...
Rajon Rondo might not be ready to return to action for the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, but fellow guard Avery Bradley expects to play for the first time this season. Bradley underwent offseason surgery on both shoulders. Rondo bruised his right hip Thursday, didn't play Saturday, then struggled through 36 minutes Sunday, scoring two points. "I'm excited, the team...
We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Sacramento.
Isaiah Thomas torched Boston’s vaunted defense through repeated drives to the basket and shots from outside. Thomas scored a season-high 27 points on 10-15 shooting and added 5 assists and 4 rebounds. His counterpart, Rajon...
Avery Bradley will play Wednesday night vs Memphis. So is our savior starting two guard ready?
Any returning-to-action jitters for Bradley?
“No, not really,” he said. “At first I was — as I started to get closer and closer. But now I’ve just been trying to prepare, just focusing more than anything, not getting antsy. Just knowing my dates and where I need to be, when I...
Just as the Celtics are finally getting Avery Bradley back from injury, they still may not have their projected starting five on the court at the same time.
Rajon Rondo is nursing injuries that could keep him out of Wednesday’s game against the Grizzlies. Fortunately, it’s not an injury that should keep Rondo out long, and Boston should have their best five together soon.
Tweet Tony Allen of the Memphis Grizzlies is one of the NBA’s better defenders. He was a member of the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2011 and First Team last year. Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is one of the more crafty players in the league with the ball in his hands, known [...]
The Boston Celtics lost three straight games after beating the Brooklyn Nets on Christmas Day. All three losses came on the West Coast and they were all by double digits. The Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, and Sacramento Kings easily handled the Celtics. While the defeats to the Clippers and Warriors were understandable because those are two of the hottest teams in...
WALTHAM, Mass. — Avery Bradley must have left his green-tinted halo at home, because the Celtics’ supposed savior was missing his angelic glow on Tuesday. Bradley has not played competitively since May 18, yet many fans and observers seem to be counting on him to rescue the Celtics from their current slide.
Bradley has heard those folks’ cries for help, but as he prepares to...

“These are dog days. This is when you really see who’s with you right now. You know, ain’t nobody cheering. Ain’t no lights on us right now. And I love this right here, because this is when all the plastic...
Oddly enough, Bradley's return didn't solve every single problem ever for the Celtics.Welcome back, Avery. Not welcome back, same Celtics team we’ve seen for the past several weeks. Please go away forever.Doc claimed that Bradley would be without a minutes-limit before the game, but it’s difficult to believe that Bradley will only get 20 minutes per game as the season...

From my game preview:
This has to be a circle-the-wagons game. The C’s are coming off an embarrassment of a road trip. The Garden will be buzzing thanks to the long-awaited return of AB. The energy level will be high. I don’t know how they are going to do it, I just know they are going to do it. Celtic pride will be restored… at least for a day.
Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong...
