That 36-year-old San Antonio Spurs forward everyone said would be over the hill by now is looking as spry as ever and having yet another great season. Like wine, apparently Tim Duncan gets better with age as well, and that couldn't be more apparent than with the NBA's announcement that Duncan has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week. It's also fitting that this is Duncan's 21st time earning the award. But Duncan had some stiff competition, including one of his own teammates, Tony Parker, who has been on a roll, stringing together three big games all in wins for the Spurs. But take one look at Duncan's numbers for the week, as well as the quality players he faced, including Blake Griffin, Kevin Garnett and Roy Hibbert, and it's obvious the award went to the right player.   Duncan averaged 22.0 points, a team-high 12.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.25 blocks in 34.5 minutes, as the Spurs went 3-1. Duncan recorded three straight 20-plus point, 10-plus rebound games from Nov. 19-23. The last time Duncan posted three straight games with at least 20-or-more points and 10-or-more rebounds was Nov. 23-27, 2009, which coincides with the last time he won Player of the Week honors.   Duncan currently leads the team with eight double-doubles and ranks tied for fourth in the NBA. He is the NBA leader with 739 career double-doubles among active players. Duncan also recently joined elite company, becoming just the ninth player in NBA history to record 2,500 blocks. He is also now one of only four players to have over 22,500 points, 12,500 rebounds and 2,500 blocked shots.   If Duncan continues along this path, he could also be adding a Player of the Month trophy to his mantle with perhaps even more hardware along the way.
