We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Minnesota. “They were making a lot of shots,” Wolves coach Rick Adelman said. “I can’t tell you [what went wrong] until I look at it, but I thought we were playing well. But in the second half they took control.” Blame one man: Rajon Rondo. The 32 points were the most by a Wolves opponent in the third quarter this season. But the Celtics also outrebounded the Wolves and had a 15-9 edge on points off turnovers. “They just scored. A lot,” guard J.J. Barea said. “They just did a good job of hitting open shots. Basically, they were more aggressive in every aspect of the game.” Star Tribune Fairly simple analysis. The Celtics won last night’s game because of their offense and Rajon Rondo played a big role. Are the Celtics really an offense-oriented team, as ESPN blogger Zach Harper suggests? I wouldn’t go that far. While their defensive stats have sli

Rajon Rondo and a few of hid Celtics teammates (Rondo and Chris Wilcox pictured below) were at the House of Blues Tuesday night for the 2 Chainz concert. Someone found his driver's license at the concert and posted a pic of it on Facebook. No truth to the rumor they are trying to trade it back to Rondo for some nail polish. Thanks Ryan for the tip.

Your Morning Dump… Where it took Rondo 2 seconds to get back into rhythm

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Rondo, who missed two games after jousting with the Nets’ Kris Humphries, provided the Celtics with an offensive spark, but didn’t care to elaborate much on his night. Here’s a sampling of the back-and-forth...

Rajon Rondo vacationed in Mexico during suspension, says he learned nothing

Rajon Rondo returned to practice with the Boston Celtics on Monday following his two-game suspension for a fight with Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries last week. The Celtics won one game and lost the other without their starting point guard, but failed to crack the 100-point mark in either contest. Rondo is happy to be back with his teammates, but that doesn’t mean he was miserable...

Can you name the C's last triple double before Rondo?

It's NOT Gamble, but he did have one. The NBA started keeping track of the stat in 1979.  Since that time, 117 triple doubles have been recorded by 8 different Boston Celtics players (all of these numbers I'm mentioning include playoffs). Between 1979 and 1992, Larry Bird had 69 of the first 71 triple doubles in franchise history.  During his run, Robert Parish (3/29...

PHILADELPHIA -- Rajon Rondo picked up another triple-double, but the Philadelphia 76ers picked up the win. Evan Turner, despite missing nine of his previous 10 shots, swished a 13-foot jumper with 3.9 seconds left in overtime to lift the Sixers past the Boston Celtics, 95-94, Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center. "I was just trying to get to my sweet spot on the court...

Did Doc calling the Celtics soft help light a fire underneath them?

It's been eight days, and three games, since Doc Rivers called his team soft following their rather embarrassing loss at home against the Nets. Since then the team is 2-1, beating the Blazers by 18, losing in Milwaukee by 3 (both of these games without Rajon Rondo) and then beating the Timberwolves by 10 last night. More than just the results though, the team has played differently...

Celtics Beat Wolves 104-94 In the Return of Stiemsma

The Celtics played their first game in five days as the Minnesota Timberwolves came to the TD Garden. This marked the first return of Greg Stiemsma coming back to Boston. While he wasn't the most important player last year, "Steamboat" quickly became a fan and team favorite due to his hard work and shot blocking ability. The night also marked the return of Rajon Rondo...

Jovan Belcher, Rajon Rondo, Gregg Popovich, Pau Gasol, and more on tonight’s Careless Whispers

Matt Rury might be “The Ladies Man”, but he is more than just a pretty face.  Rury and Chamberlain have some serious thoughts on the Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher and his murder/suicide.  They’ve also got less serious thoughts on the other people included in the heading, and perhaps Rury will romance a few [...]
