Breaking News from ESPN… "..ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported on Wednesday night that Greg Oden's camp has been notified that he will be the No. 1 pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in Thursday's NBA draft. It was not an easy choice. Oden tested better at predraft camp, Kevin Durant had the sharper workout in Portland. Dominant big men are usually impossible to pass up, and Oden could be a great one. He has been compared to Bill Russell for his rebounding and shot blocking, and he led Ohio State to the national championship game even while never at full strength after surgery on his right wrist…" link to ESPN story.. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2007/news/story?id=2919041

  • Congrats Greg! Good luck in Portland, make the Yard proud!
  • Good luck Greg, can't wait to see what your gonna do in Portland, make the Buckeye nation happy!
  • this has been denied by portland and greg's agent.
  • ESPN got it right.

It's already a documented fact that half the Blazers roster was present for the Greg Oden workout, and no Blazers players were there to see the Durant workout. Greg Oden's mom has also been spotted house shopping in the Portland area.

If I were guess who Ric Bucher's source is, my guess would be Greg Oden's mom. She's an honest, straight-forward, hard working woman who just seems to be the type that would think the whole hush-hush treatment would be a bunch of foolishness.
  • Of course everyone will deny that anyone knows...because David Stern specifically does not want anything leaked before the draft for obvious reasons. It was more than likely some loose lipped source who could not keep there mouth shut!!! Oden has made many curious slips in the last week or so...more than likely getting numerous calls from Conley and Kevin to watch his mouth!!

Oden is a done deal!!! Welcome to the Rose City Greg
  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
    HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

    RIP CITY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I mean isn't this how it was suppose to be? now we can talk about the other prospects. i was starting to get a bit tired of all this. Both these kids are gonna have great careers and bright futures ahead. We knew they were gonna go 1& 2 anyway! There can't be 2 number one picks! Regardless of anything else, Oden and Durant are gonna have to get use to losing more than they are accustomed to. Or maybe i'm wrong. Hopefully i am.

  • Kevin Durant is going to be a better NBA player anyways
  • Congratulations Greg! Seems like the fans love him so I'd say its a good fit
  • Breaking news now just in on ESPN.
