Found April 19, 2012 on Celtics Town:
Very few people considered Avery Bradley a candidate to break out and help inspire a second-half Boston Celtics surge, but Kevin Garnett saw the potential a lot earlier than most. As soon as Garnett began playing pickup games with Bradley, he noticed the way the youngster played defense, the fast-twitch muscles that moved more quickly than most everyone else’s, the work ethic that would make such a drastic improvement possible. At some point shortly after the two met, Garnett took his then-rookie teammate aside.“I told him if he continued to work, he had the tools and the ability to be something special in our league,” Garnett said.Keep in mind, at this point last season Bradley was a shy young turtle who still hadn’t mustered the courage to emerge from his shell, who was actually afraid to enter practice drills at certain points. He played, at least offensively, with a debilitating hesitance which kept any of his talent from shining through. He could not shoot, could not run an o...

Kevin Garnett thinks Avery Bradley should get paid

Kevin Garnett has a lot of great things to say about Avery Bradley, you can tell he's proud of how he has developed and emerged as, really, one of the most important members of this Celtics team. Plus, he hints he needs to be "rewarded". Agree? Comment below or add us to your circles on Google+

Avery Bradley, Keyon Dooling Among Players Relieving Celtics' Backcourt Concerns

Avery Bradley did his best impression of a natural point guard for more than 36 minutes on Wednesday. He brought the ball up the court, got the Celtics into their offense and then got out of the way for Paul Pierce to take care of distributing the basketball. Most importantly for the Celtics, Bradley protected the ball, entering the final 30 seconds against the Magic with only three...

Hawks 97, Celtics 92: The JV squad falls with pride

The Boston Celtics clearly believe they can defeat Atlanta on the road during the playoffs, and the JV squad did little to squash that belief. Two thoughts from a relatively valiant loss:1. This team never quits regardless of who’s in the lineup and what the situation might be.2. Avery Bradley is developing into a legitimate monster. I’m quite happy he’s on the Celtics.

Celtics without Big Four lose to Hawks, 97-92

The Avery Bradley led Celtics gave the Atlanta Hawks a game, losing 97-92. Bradley led Boston with 28 points as everyone got playing time including newcomer Sean Williams, who got three minutes. It is impressive that the team, with Rondo, Pierce, Allen and Garnett, played with pride and kept in the game. Avery set the tempo for this game and almost got away with a win. Joe Johnson...

Celtics 102, Magic 98: Short-handed Celtics do enough to survive

If you told me at the beginning of the season that Avery Bradley and Sasha Pavlovic would start a mid-April tilt against the Orlando Magic, I would have puked on my shirt, walked into my closet to retrieve a new one, cried for 20 minutes, eaten two gallons of chocolate ice cream, and then braced myself for all sorts of ugly. But this is not the beginning of the season, so when...

KG thanks media for 'lousy analysis'

Kevin Garnett ripped the media from some of their lousy analysis, but he was actually thankful for it. Find out why that was the case.

Kevin Garnett Rocketing Up List of NBA Defensive Player of the Year Candidates

Scorers get the glory, but a lockdown defender is crucial to any team with championship aspirations. With points at a premium this season, the true defensive specialists have emerged from the fold. It is not easy to muster the energy to shut down the other team's best player three times in four nights -- or even three times in three nights, on occasion. But a chosen few have...

Man in the middle! Garnett turns back hands of time!

Veteran power forward Kevin Garnett has beenabsolutely dominant for the Boston Celtics since moving to center almost a month ago.The Boston Celtics have been steamrolling their opponents for the better part of the last month or so – and maybe it should come as no surprise – seeing as how future Hall of Fame forward Kevin Garnett has raised the level of his play following...

Pierce and Garnett likely to sit tonight

The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn is reporting that according to Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett “probably” won’t play tonight.  With Rondo, Allen, and Pietrus already not making the trip to Atlanta, this represents a philosophical decision by the Celtics that rest is more important than home court advantage in the first round. [...]

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett out tonight against Atlanta Hawks

Since tonight’s game in Atlanta could very well decide who receives home court advantage in the first round, it’s safe to say Doc Rivers has officially entered “I’m really banking on the fact that we can beat Atlanta or Orlando on the road” mode. Either that or he’s banking on Avery Bradley scoring 45 points, Sean Williams and Greg Stiemsma combining for 17 blocked...

Rondo, KG and life inside the Celtics lockerroom

You MUST read this article by Holly MacKenzie of Ball Don't Lie. MacKenzie provides fantastic insight into Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett and the dynamics of Celtics lockerroom, courtesy of Keyon Dooling. Here's what Dooling said about the perception of Rajon Rondo's grumpy personality: "It's funny because there were a lot of people who didn't necessarily...

Celtics Work Some Magic, Clinch Division

In what might shock most people outside of Boston, especially after the Celtics went into the All-Star Break with a 15-17 record, the C’s clinched the Atlantic Division title tonight with a 102-98 win over the Orlando Magic. Going into the 2011/12 NBA season, it was generally accepted that the Carmelo Anthony-led New York Knicks would cruise to the division crown over a pretty...
