Jocks and Stiletto Jill:
The Knicks are currently off to their best start since the 93 season. Their current record is 5-0 with their latest victory taking place against the magic, 99-89. It was a tight first half but the Knicks pulled away in the fourth led by Carmelo Anthony’s 25 points and J.R. Smith came off the bench [...]
BEST OF MAXIM
J.R. Smith is off to a scorching start with the New York Knicks this season, averaging 18.2 points per game and converting more than 70% of his shots from three-point range. The three-point percentage will obviously fall at some point, but Smith’s scoring average is notable as it is almost a full six points higher than his career mark of 12.6 points per game. The Knicks have only...
The NBA is not quite 3 weeks old, and MVP conversations are already taking place. Major League baseball is about to announce their selection for AL MVP, and there is a strong argument for both of those candidates and it is hard to say either would be the wrong selection. But making a case for [...]
J.R. Smith is enjoying a stretch in which he is playing the best basketball of his career. He’s currently averaging 18.2 points per game this season, which is second on the club trailing only Carmelo Anthony. This morning when asked about head coach Mike Woodson calling Smith “more professional,” J.R. gave the reason why: he’s not partying as much. Smith said:
The biggest question in the NBA that begs to be answered right now is ‘are the New York Knicks for real?’

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points, and J.R. Smith and Raymond Felton each added 21 as the New York Knicks held off the Orlando Magic 99-89 Tuesday night to improve to 5-0.
The victory extended New York's NBA-best start. The Knicks have won their first five games for the first time since opening the 1993-94 season 7-0 before reaching the NBA finals.
If I told you New York Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony finished a game with nine points, three assists, and two turnovers on 3-of-12 shooting, one would assume the Knicks would have probably been blown out.
That’s why that is an assumption, in the past the Knicks might have been defeated with a low performance from “Melo”, but on Thursday in the AT&T Center, Raymond...
Basketball, particularly high level basketball, is ostensibly a half-court game. You can try to push the pace and you can try to score in transition, but the majority of your points will come in half-court sets.
Particularly late in close games, offense and scoring becomes more about exploiting matchups and creating plays when defenses begin to lock in.

The KnicksJournal.com team was in Orlando to watch the Knicks and Magic rumble at the Amway Center on Tuesday night.Coincidentally enough, the most rumbling came from Magic fans, who were seemingly very excited that their team stayed in the game as long as they did.As fate would have it though, New York fans came out in force as the Amway Center seemed like a sea of orange and...
