The season's about to get started and Boston's #1 sports blog has another free giveaway! Just guess the combined number of games Marquis Daniels AND Jermaine O'Neal will appear in this year and the winner gets to choose either a Larry Bird-Magic Johnson or Kevin McHale-Patrick Ewing Starting Lineup figure. Whoever is closest to the total number wins. If the person with the highest number or lowest number isn't at least equal or one better in the disparity between numbers than no clear-cut winner is chosen. If two people pick the same answer one will win each.
For example Joe picks 97 and Bob picks 102, and the actual number is 108. With 102, Bob had the highest number guessed. But Bob's pick was only five off from Joe's and Bob's pick was 6 off the actual number, so nobody wins. This is simply in place to prevent people from bidding the highest and lowest numbers.

Days prior to training camps opened around the NBA in early December, the Sacramento Kings busily refined their roster to start the season fresh.
Coming as no shock, the Kings renounced the rights to Samuel Dalembert, Marquis Daniels, Darnell Jackson and Pooh Jeter, and life went on from there in each case. The Houston Rockets are vying for Dalembert’s services, Daniels returned...
The Los Angeles Lakers are at one of those rare moments in their franchise's history where the team is at a crossroads. The team has a new coach, is eyeing its next superstar acquisition and is dealing with the reality of their star's mortality. The failure in the Western Conference Semifinals sweep to the Mavericks is enough to throw any team into chaos and uncertainty....
Hall of Famer Magic Johnson sees the revamped Knicks struggling early, but predicts they'll be battling the Heat and Bulls for the Eastern Conference crown next spring.
The former Lakers great says he is paying attention to the Clippers and that should be incentive to the Lakers. He adds that Kobe Bryant should not have to carry the team as he has done in the past.Of all the indignities that befell the Lakers in their exhibition opener, one stood out.
Charles Barkey. Karl Malone. Patrick Ewing
We would draft Karl Malone, resign Charles Barkley, and cut Patrick Ewing.
These three players are about as equal as it comes. You can look at the numbers but aside from Malone scoring slightly more points per game there isn’t going to be a ton that differentiates one from another. This is straight preference.

LOS ANGELES - Of all the indignities that befell the Los Angeles Lakers in their exhibition opener, one stood out.
Charlie Ward, Allan Houston, Latrell Sprewell, Larry Johnson and Patrick Ewing. Those five were the regular starters the last time the Knicks won a playoff series. That was — can you believe it?
