The Nets haven’t been able to build true team chemistry yet without forward Gerald Wallace, who suffered a sprained ankle in the season opener against the Toronto Raptors.
Although he was limited, Wallace practiced Monday for the first time since he rolled his ankle 27 seconds away from an opening win against Toronto. He’s scheduled to be available for Thursday’s game against the Celtics.
“He was limited in practice, did just as much as he could tolerate. He was just in and out of practice, but he did nothing substantial where in terms he’s ready to play in a game,” Johnson said. “We’ll see how he recovers, because this is the most he’s done in a while. We’ll see how he recovers.”
Wallace limped off the court after practice, declining to speak with reporters. His presence is heavily underrated, but the heart of the team Deron Williams knows exactly how valuable he is.
“He’s a big part of what we want to do this year,” point guard Deron Williams said. “Part of (build

A decent start by the Brooklyn Nets but injury woes headline their season. Sucks the Nets Marshon Brooks and Gerald Wallace have matching left ankle injuries.
Brooks left ankle woes began at practice with what seemed to be a simple sprain. The 23-year old Nets guard, admitted he sat out because his ankle, “really wasn’t feeling the way [he] wanted” Thursday night.
On Monday the NBA announced select teams playing on Christmas day will wear “Big Color” jerseys. The jerseys feature a monochromatic color scheme, highlighted by the team’s prominent color. For the Nets, the jerseys will be all black, except for the lining on the numbers and logos.

In the NBA, we have a tendency to overrate some of the games biggest stars. That may be what the Brooklyn Nets have done with Deron Williams.
Now, make no mistake, Williams is an All-Star. He can win games for you from the point guard position. But hes probably not a No. 1 option, even if the Nets try to promote him as such. Or more accurately, hes probably not a No...
The book on Andray Blatche is tattered and traveled: man possesses the size of a center, but the ability of a much smaller player. It’s pages have produced studs (see: Durant, Kevin), but just as many duds (Thomas, Tim). ‘Tis the mind, not the body, that fails these dudes in their attempts to succeed at the highest level of basketball.
The logic behind uncertainty for the future...
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson posted his pregame look on Sunday before the Nets took on the Orlando Magic. Johnson has been struggling with his shot as of late but managed to score 13 points to help the Nets defeat the Magic 82-74. But the real question, how do we feel about Joe’s game day [...]

What a great start to a new era in the borough of Brooklyn for the Nets. They are off to a 4-2 start to the regular season.

Brooklyn's Deron Williams has long been considered one of the NBA's elite point guards. Second-year pro Kyrie Irving is quickly making his claim for the same status with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
When the two square off Tuesday night in Brooklyn, the Nets hope Williams' starting backcourt mate can start playing up to expectations, while the Cavaliers are looking for better...
BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Joe Johnson knew that he was a much better shooter than the one who shot 36 percent during his first five games with the Brooklyn Nets. So in the morning shoot-around before the Nets took on the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday night, Johnson concentrated on finding his rhythm and touch once again. "For some reason today, I felt good," said Johnson, who connected...
Big thanks to everybody who made it out to Two Bucks last night for the Terrell Brandon Appreciation night Tweet-Up. It was a fun time talking Cavs basketball with everybody despite the fact that the good guys fell to Kris Humphries and the Brooklyn Nets.
Major props go out to @1BE4IGO who came in rocking a Terrell Brandon jersey.

Orlando was very much in a race against Brooklyn. Time was not on its side after digging a 22-point deficit in the first quarter and looking like a Friday repeat was on the way. Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries and Reggie Evans dominated the offensive glass, getting the Nets plenty of extra possessions to build the lead.
The Magic were not going to lay down again. They were not going...
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Maybe it's a sign of the changing times in the NBA or the rapid improvement of the Brooklyn Nets, but try this on for size: Before the weekend, the Nets had not defeated the Magic in almost three years, dating back to 2009 in a stretch that lasted 10 games. But coming off the huge 39-point win over the Magic in Orlando Friday night and their 82-74 victory over...
