Orlando Magic forward Glen Davis is out for the rest of the season with a broken left foot. Davis suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Magic's 113-97 loss to New York Knicks, as reported by Josh Robbins the Orlando Sentinel.Already having to go through a rebuilding season with the loss of Dwight Howard, the Magic have now lost on of their best players along with their co-captain. Davis is the team's leading scorer with 15.1 points per game to go with a solid 7.5 rebounds per game (both career-highs due to lack of minutes beforehand). His fellow teammates shared their thoughts on the matter."I just wish him the best," said point guard and co-captain Jameer Nelson. "I gave him a hug. There's really nothing you can say to a guy other than, 'I'm here for you,' or something like that. I just hope everything goes well for him.""It's disappointing," shooting guard J.J. Redick said. "You never want to see a teammate get hurt. We played without him before, and we'll have to just continue to roll with the punches, and guys are going to have to step up."Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said that this, however unfortunate, will be a good test for the forward."It's really unfortunate, because I know he looked forward to this year. [It's] new territory for him. So it's really unfortunate for him to be hurt this year multiple times, but it's a good test for him going forward."If anything positive is to result from this, it is that the team will be able to give time to some of their developing young players. It's hard to see any of them replace Davis's production and the team will likely sink lower into the lottery. As a rebuilding team, a chance for a better pick could be seen as a good thing, despite how much they may rather see a healthy team.Follow @hoopsinjurynews
