Rondo
As you know by now, Rajon Rondo joined Comcast Sports Net in place of the legendary Tommy Heinsohn for Monday night's broadcast in Chicago. Alongside Mike Gorman, Rondo called the first half of the game, and did a pretty good job.Although his broadcasting was a bit rusty, as we should expect, Rondo's insight was fantastic. But the real story was that we got to see some of the Celtics' captain's personality. Like the headline says, Mike Gorman believes Boston's perception on Rondo is ill-conceived. Here is Gorman expanding on that idea in Baxter Holmes' piece for the Boston Globe:“For this to be a success, for me, would be if people that are watching us walk away saying, ‘Wow, he’s a better kid than I thought,’ ” Gorman said. “I think Boston has really missed the boat with this kid,” Gorman said. “I’m a Dorchester guy, I grew up in the city, and I just think the city has missed the boat in the sense that this is a good kid. “He does a lot of good charity stu...

Rajon Rondo says during commentating debut "You have to be a leader every day"

Rondo articulated on TV nicely, and he didn't seem overwhelmed by any means sitting alongside Mike Gorman during Monday nights Bulls game. I think he gets an "A" for effort, but the biggest takeaways came from Mike Gorman's questions during the broadcast. CSNNE"Well being the older guy on the team or one of the oldest guys on the team, I have to be more vocal...

Rajon Rondo keeping his head up, despite Celtics 6th 50 loss season in team history

This will be a season that Rondo will want to forget. It's a season that Rondo has used to find his way back. Rondo wants to win at everything. But I think his true focus is on getting his footing back. The Celtics have only had 6, 50 loss seasons in team history. Rajon Rondo happened to be on the last 50 loss season in 2006-07. Rondo was asked about the 2006-07 team, and his...

Bulls defeat Celtics 94-80 in Rajon Rondo's broadcast debut

Rajon Rondo was clearly nervous at the start, during the pre-game segment he talked so fast he sounded like me giving my first ever "oral report" in 6th grade.  But as the game wore on he began to settle down, and it showed in his performance.  Originally Rondo was scheduled to do color commentary alongside Mike Gorman for just the first quarter, but he found his rhythm...

Benny The Bull Pulls Hilarious Prank on Rajon Rondo

Chicago Bulls Basketball- When the Chicago Bulls hosted the Boston Celtics on March 31st, 2014, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was the butt of one of Benny the Bull’s pranks. If anyone has been to a Bulls game than they have probably seen Benny do his “spill the popcorn” routine. This routine was only possible because Rajon Rondo currently is not playing in back-to-back games...

Celtics Morning Joe: Changes ahead after blowout against Wizards

Rondo played well against the Wizards, he tried to carry the guys, but they didn't follow his lead. The young guys (Sully,Olynyk) seemed to be watching, and they fought until the final buzzer. Will Avery Bradley ever be healthy? Should the Celtics be concerned?

Lost in the excitement of Rajon Rondo's broadcast debut last night was the fact that Avery Bradley never returned to the court after halftime.  The cause?  The same troublesome right ankle that has forced him to miss 19 games already this season.  After the game Bradley downplayed its significance, saying (via ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg): It's just tendinitis in...

Brad Stevens, Celtics Seek To Salvage Forgettable Season As Learning Experience

BOSTON — Rajon Rondo has lived the 50-loss life once before. He’s not keen on experiencing it again. Rondo earned an unfortunate distinction as a member of two different 50-loss teams when the Boston Celtics suffered yet another defeat Sunday. He’s the only current Celtic who was also a member of the ignominious 2006-07 squad, but whenever questioned about the similarities...
