It's been a while since I posted my analysis of the Boston Celtics' 2003 and 2004 NBA Drafts. However, as promised, I will continue to breakdown each draft that Danny Ainge has been responsible for (2003-2012) since joining the Celtics' front office. Next on the list is the 2005 draft so let's get to it. Draft: 2004 Picks: (1)18, (2)50, (2)53 (1)18. Gerald Green, SG/SF Gulf Shores Academy With the 18th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics selected athletic wingman, Gerald Green. Despite the fact Green was declaring for the draft straight out of high school, he was considered to be a high-risk, high-reward player. Some experts even went as far as comparing him to former All-Star guard, Tracy McGrady. In his senior year at GSA, Green averaged eye-popping numbers. He poured in 33 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out 7 helpers, and turned away 3 shots per game. As a result the 6-7 forward was named a McDonald's All-American. Green's All-...

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
I really didn’t want to write about Doc today, but it’s unavoidable. The Celtics’ immediate future basically hinges on his decision to stay or go. Doc and Danny will be meeting today to discuss Rivers’ future...
(Note: This was written on Tuesday the 18th, by which time sources had reported the Clippers walking away from trade talks and Danny Ainge himself declared the trade “dead.” But as far as I know, an hour after publication the trade may end up happening, rendering this article useless. But, you know…whatever.)
Well…How Did We Get Here?
The first thing that should be addressed...
Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge will meet on Wednesday to discuss the best way to move forward following the end of trade talks between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers.
Rivers was nearly allowed to coach the Clippers in a deal that would have involved Kevin Garnett.
Rivers is reportedly uneasy about returning to the Celtics amid a likely rebuild.
The Celtics were hoping to...
It appears Doc Rivers won’t be coaching the Clippers any time soon. According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Rivers isn't sure he'll be coaching the Celtics either. “Rivers is unsure about returning to the Boston Celtics as coach,” Wojnarowski reported, citing league sources. The Celtics, however, apparently still want Rivers back to fulfill the remaining three...
At this point it seems like a matter of when, not if, Doc Rivers departs Boston.
Despite talks between the Clippers and Celtics hitting an impasse over the weekend, it appears that talks to send Rivers and Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles in a multi-layered package deal are not totally dead after all. Now that it is clear the Clippers will not include point guard Eric Bledsoe in the...
Doc Rivers stock in Boston is plummeting. Kevin Garnett's isn't far
behind. Paul Pierce's future is sadly not really in his own hands, and Danny
Ainge might be on the verge of making a deal that could be a fireable
While all this is happening, there is one
member of the Boston Celtics organization who's stock appears to by
slowly turning around. If...
Not here, KG. There...
I could easily say this was the most exciting podcast of all in which I have had the pleasure to participate this year. At the CelticsSpa office we were all anxiously having our phones ringing in frenzy and the sweat covered our foreheads on a very hot Monday evening.
You have read and heard about it for days: The Celtics and the Clippers were immersed in...
Doc Rivers has not ruled out taking time off from coaching for a return to his broadcasting career and returning afterward to coaching, according to a source.
"You guys (media) have been around Doc long enough to know that's always been something he's talked about," the source said. "So it shouldn't come as a surprise.
"And frankly, now is probably...
Rajon Rondo is not known for the being the warmest and cuddliest professional athlete of all time, so it is definitely believable that he might be a bit of a germaphobe.
Jimmy Kimmel took advantage of that with a gag in which the Celtics point guard pretends to have a cold and is paranoid about getting sicker. A lucky fan who just wanted to get Rondo’s autograph and maybe a picture...
The back and forth between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers regarding Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett heading to L.A. seem once again reportedly off.
Several outlets, including ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, are reporting the Clippers pulled out because they were unwilling to give up an extra first round draft pick as compensation for Rivers. According to Shelburne's...
The basketball world has been filled with news of a potential Celtics/Clippers trade over the past few days. Though he wouldn’t technically be part of the trade per NBA rules, the “center” of the trade rumors has been current Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers. After firing Head Coach Vinny Del Negro, the Clippers are without a Head Coach and feel that Doc Rivers on the sideline...
We updated you earlier on the progress of the reported trade talks between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics that centered around Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett. Reportedly though, they have ended with no deal. Per ESPN: The teams have no plans to speak again, the sources said, and the Clippers are preparing to [...]
Celtics, Clippers still talking
The talk all weekend was about the potential goings on in the back halls at TD Garden. And it was not about the Stanley Cup Final making its way to Boston. There are proverbial moving boxes outside Doc Rivers' office if the team can get this thing figured out.
Catching you up in case you had your head buried in the sand, the Celtics...
