The Boston Celtics made a lot of moves this offseason. Acquiring Jason Terry and Courtney Lee and re-signing Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox among others should greatly improve the team’s offense, speed, and athleticism, and give them a vastly deeper squad going into the 2012-2013 season. The Celtics took the eventual champion Miami Heat to seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals last year, and given the improvements to their bench and the overall influx of youth, most are picking the Celtics to once again give the Heat a serious run for their money this year. However, with all the moves the Celtics made, one could easily argue that they did nothing to fix their biggest weakness – rebounding. Boston once again was one of the very best defensive teams in the NBA last year. However they were also right at the bottom of the league in the rebounding department. In fact only the Charlotte Bobcats, a team that won all of seven games, were a worse rebounding team than the C’s. It seemed t...

Shaq crosses the street in his underwear

I had no idea that Shaquille O’Neal had his own comedy network. The Comedy Shaq Network recently featured a video of Shaq in his underwear walking across a pretty busy street. The bit is funny, although not as hysterical as the dudes laughing in the background would make you believe. You can now call him Shaq Dice Clay. Ooooo.

Rajon Rondo and I have something in common

We're both bloggers. Rondo recently posted his first blog for GQ, where - as you must know by now - he's interning right now. His first post was about winter hats. Not a topic that particularly interests me. When I shop for clothes, most of the time I just grab the first thing that looks like what I'm looking for. In and out. Rondo apparently takes a lot of other things...

Video: Daniel Tosh bashes Paul Pierce and his pump fake

Daniel Tosh, of Tosh.O bashes Paul Pierce and the Celtics hard. He calls Pierce a dunking baby and pumps up the Lakers; a double whammy for Celtics fans.

The Celtics get real bang for their buck

Through a complex formula, Bloomberg Businessweek has identified the smartest spending teams in sports.  The Celtics rank 2nd in the NBA (behind the Lakers) and 7th among the four North American professional leagues. It comes down to cost-per-win with bonus points for wins above .500, playoff wins and championships. The Heat, Magic and Spurs round out the top 5 in the NBA. The Knicks...

GreenLight Madness: Sweet Sixteen – Seed #2 vs Seed #18

The sweet sixteen continues on this NFL Sunday, but we can always use a little NBA/Celtics action right?  Paul Pierce’s clutch three pointer vs Miami squares off against a very popular Rondo-to-KG alley-oop vs Philly.  KG announces that he is a “problem” out there on the floor, but will that play be a problem for The Truth?  Vote below to decide. #2 Seed: Paul Pierce’s...

Jared Dudley Wants To Play For The Celtics

Wow. So yeah, scope out the video at the 00:37 mark, Dudley straight up says: “maybe one day, maybe I’ll be a Celtic. You never know.” Sounds like Dudley wants to mix it up with the big boys now and be apart of a Conference Championship series, at the very least. Good for you Jared. Sorry Phoenix.

“R.O.N.D.O.”

Woke-up to find this fantastic song & video in my Twitter mentions. Red’s Army readers GeeZeeCeltics and Vandell Harris have teamed-up to bring us a sweet Rondo tribute. The song, called “R.O.N.D.O.”, is performed by Harris, and GeeZee did all the video work. Big props to both of them on this-and make sure you follow them on Twitter: GeeZeeCeltics Vandell Harris
