LeBron James scored 27 points and the Miami Heat became the fourth team to win at least 20 consecutive games in a season, rallying to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 98-94 on Wednesday night.
Dwyane Wade added 21 as the Heat needed big baskets over the final 2 minutes to top the Sixers for the milestone win.
Only three teams have won at least 20 consecutive games in the same season: the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers (33), the 2007-08 Houston Rockets (22) and the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks (20). The Washington Capitols also won 20 straight, spanning the end of the 1947-48 season and the start of the 1948-49 campaign.
Thaddeus Young had 24 points and 15 rebounds for the Sixers.

I don't know that I would quite call this a 'posterizing' play, but it Philadelphia's Jrue Holiday did dunk on King James to tie the game late at 91-91. The Heat would end up winning their 20th in a row anyway, but this is easily the highlight of the game.
It's not everyday that the king is made to look like a pauper!
It can be argued that a team sport is not a one-man game. In fact, it’s very rare that one person can come along and change chemistry, talent and overall bring championships to an organization.
For every LeBron James there is a Dwyane Wade and for every Kobe Bryant there is a Shaquille O’Neal.
Because a team of the NBA features only five players at any given time one player does...
The Heat and LeBron James may have went on to win their 20th game in a row last night over the Sixers but for a moment during the game, all eyes were on Jrue Holiday and his spectacular dunk on James.
During the nip-and-tuck game, late in the 4th quarter, Holiday got free into the lane when he went up at the rim only to catch James trying for the block when Jrue caught him.
MILWAUKEE -- If the Milwaukee Bucks are going to snap Miami's 20-game winning streak Friday night, they are going to have to do it without one of their best defensive players.
Small forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will miss his third straight game with turf toe, hampering Milwaukee's ability to guard LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Slowing James and Wade is hard for anybody...

Lesser teams have caused the Miami Heat some trouble lately during their astounding winning streak. The Milwaukee Bucks are clearly inferior, but they've given the Heat all they could handle over the past two years.

The Boston Celtics are steadily morphing their roster into the small-ball nature of the league.
It is a place where players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and James Harden rule the day. For Boston it has to be Jeff Green who assumes that role.
His skill set can make him be that star that they need to put alongside Rondo. He can't be content to just make it back. He has to...
MILWAUKEE -- Dwyane Wade's eyes perked up and he sat up straight in his chair when a reporter told him former coach Bill Sharman said the Miami Heat have it in them to break his 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers' NBA-record 33-game winning streak.
"That's so far away," Wade said with a laugh at Friday's shootaround. "I won't think about 33 unless we were...

Dwyane Wade‘s divorce battle with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches-Wade was nasty. The ex-Mrs. Wade also aimed some of her hostility at DWade’s current girlfriend, Hollywood actress Gabrielle Union. So when Siohvaughn recently appeared on “Dr. Phil,” it appears that Gabby may have had some commentary about it.
Was Gabby subtweeting the ex-Mrs. Wade?

D-W-Y-A-N-E WADE. We figured this ESPN fail, with as much as the WWL covers the Heat, was impossible. But there it is. Blame his mother for the stupid spelling fail, not an ESPN intern. As for the Heat, of course they beat Atlanta, 98-81.
If the 19-game winning streak is going to end, keep an eye on Monday, March 18 at Boston. If Boston can’t end the streak, go to March 31 at...
