Top overall draft choice Anthony Davis has been scratched from New Orleans' lineup against New York on Tuesday night because of a flare-up of his left ankle injury that first occurred Friday night.
Team officials call Davis' injury a ''stress reaction,'' which is an area of bone tenderness which, if exacerbated, can develop into a fracture.
Davis is officially listed as day-to-day. Davis has not yet been ruled out of Wednesday night's game at Indiana and team officials say he will travel with the club.
Davis initially hurt his ankle during the Hornets' loss to Oklahoma City, but played through it and continued to practice.
The club did not rule him out of the game against the Knicks until shortly before tipoff.

New Orleans Hornets center Anthony Davis continues to be hampered by an ankle injury, as the first-overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft is listed by the team as day-to-day, reports John Reid of NOLA.com."He turned his ankle a little bit, but I'm not sure what he's going feel like tonight,'' coach Monty Williams said. "We'll see.''Davis was expected...
The Hornets have waived guard Matt Carroll.
Matt Carroll was the returning piece in a deal that sent Hakim Warrick to the Charlotte Bobcats. When the trade was made, it was quite obvious that the New Orleans Hornets were just dumping salary. It seemed they had no intention of keeping Carroll on long-term, and they didn't. Yesterday, the team cut ties and bought out Carroll's contract. According to Jimmy Smith...
Rasheed Wallace might only play 14 minutes a game for the Knicks this year, but he makes those minutes count. Sheed fouled rookie Austin Rivers of the New Orleans Hornets during the Knicks win last night and gave the rookie a little hazing of his own. After Rivers missed his first free throw Rasheed yelled "BALL DON"T LIE, BALL DON'T LIE" at Rivers at the top...
I had a chance to speak with starting forward for the New Orleans Hornets forward Al-Farouq Aminu! He gave his thoughts on everything from representing Nigeria in the Olympics, his NBA experience, playing with 2012 first-round pick Anthony Davis and even his hometown Atlanta Falcons!
The post Al-Farouq Aminu Talks Anthony Davis, Nigeria, NBA and Falcons appeared first on FootBasket.
As much as the New Orleans Hornets might miss big man Anthony Davis, there's probably little he could do about their defensive problems on the perimeter.
Opponents are hitting 3-pointers at an alarming rate against the Hornets, who could be without Davis again as they try to avoid a sixth straight loss Friday night in a road game against the Phoenix Suns.
Davis has missed the...
Little was going right for the New Orleans Hornets even before Anthony Davis was forced to sit out another game.
The No. 1 overall pick may be out again Wednesday night when New Orleans visits the Indiana Pacers, who hope to get another solid performance from former Hornet David West.
Davis, who also suffered a concussion earlier this season, missed his third game Tuesday after...
Three games (one which involved the Raptors and another that featured the Hornets minus Anthony Davis) didn’t really provide the type of material necessary for a good “Starting Lineup,” so I decided to roll with “Things That Happened” instead. Hopefully this video-based blurb of a post will quench your thirst for NBA information, but keep in mind that I didn’t have...
