One thing is for certain, somebody isn’t telling the truth. Since earlier this week when Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett had their glorified tiff, we’ve heard non-stop about the Honey Nut Cheerios debacle. However, Doc Rivers has since come out and refuted the story saying he knows it didn’t happen for a fact. “Well, No. 1, I know what’s been reported did not happen,” Rivers said during his weekly interview on Boston sports radio station WEEI. “I know that as a fact.” Not so fast Doc. NBA.com’s Adam Zagoria tweeted that the Honey Nut Cheerios comment did indeed happen according to NBA sources. Makes sense, Doc Rivers probably doesn’t want any distractions to his team now that they’re finally on a bit of a roll after their early season funk. However the “NBA source,” comes in form of the ball boys. An NBA source tells @snytv the ball boys overheard KG make the Cheerios comment to Melo. For what it’s worth. — Adam Zagoria (@AdamZagoria) January 12, 2013 The real winner continues to be General Mills, as Honey Nut Cheerios continues to get some nice exposure! The post Is Doc Rivers lying? NBA source tells SNY.tv Kevin Garnett did make Cheerios comment appeared first on New York Sports Kings.
