Jamal Murray’s Strong Statement on All-Star Game Snub
USA TODAY Sports

There's no way around it, Jamal Murray is the best NBA player in the game right now who has never been an All-Star. He knows how special he is, and gave his reaction to the snub yesterday.

Last night when the Denver Nuggets faced off against the Portland Trail Blazers, Jamal Murray opened up about being snubbed from the NBA All-Star game this year. He openly admitted that it motivates him on the court right now.

"There's multiple players in the league that should be All-Stars," Murray said. "I think Fox wasn't an All-Star... Trae wasn't an All-Star. What do you want me to do now? I think you guys have seen me play at a pretty high level against those same guys that are All-Stars. I just go out there and try not to take it to heart. It is what it is."

During the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Jamal Murray averaged 26.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds on 47/40/93 shooting. This was during a 20-game stretch that included winning an NBA Championship. There are multiple players in the NBA All-Star game that didn't accomplish what Jamal Murray did in the playoffs last year, and he performed far better than those players as well.

Unfortunately for Murray, it doesn't seem like anything he's done during the 2023 NBA Playoffs matters when selecting All-Stars for this season.
