While the wirey guard has never been one to be bashful, he’s at it again. He has modified his Larry O’Brien trophy tattoo to include the Celtics leprechaun. And the reasoning behind it – he’s guaranteeing that the Celtics’ 18th NBA championship will come in 2012-13.

“There’s the lucky leprechaun and he’s spinning the Larry O’Brien trophy, which we will win this year.”

The Celtics finished fourth in the Eastern Conference this past season and then took the eventual champ Miami Heat to a game seven in the Eastern Conference Finals. The roster has been small improvements as they added Courtney Lee to probably start at shooting guard in front of Terry. Lee and Terry should prove to be a minor upgrade over departed guard Ray Allen. The Celtics will welcome back forward Jeff Green who missed all of 2011-12 after having heart surgery. Plus, they have added Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo through the draft to bolster their front court.

Whether the the changes will be enough to overtake the Heat and then beat the Lakers or Thunder in the Finals is obviously yet to be seen. Jason Terry thinks so…and he proved it. It’s a shame that guarantees mean absolutely zero.

Jason Terry Has Totally Won Me Over

I always kind of liked Jason Terry when he was on the Mavericks. I liked his energy and his enthusiasm. Of course, when the Celtics played them, that kind of got a bit irritating, but I still liked him. He was always a classy player. Now that he's on the Celtics and I'm learning more about him, I'm even more impressed. First there was the press conference where...

He unveiled his awesome tattoo and has been providing plenty of great quotes and photos for eager Celtics fans who are eating them all up. Why I love Jason "Dagger Three" Terry

I loved the pick up of Jason Terry. Ever since I started watching him play I've nicknamed him "Dagger Three" because all he does is hit those threes that just crush the hearts of opponents. I also love him because of his enthusiasm, confidence, and loyalty to any team he plays for.  The guy has already gotten a leprechaun tattoo on his forearm. Respect. What I...

Video: Jason Terry "can't wait" for opening night

CSNNE: "Until last year, when Miami won, the average age of an NBA championship team was 34 and up, and so that goes to tell you that you have to have that veteran experience, that leadership that knowing guys have been there before. And so, that's why I like our team. You got that with a good mix of young guys and you got yourself a championship contender." Not...

Jason Terry's Confidence in Right Place With Championship Prediction for Celtics, Even if Logic Is Flawed (Video)

Jason Terry has a history of coming through on championship-sized boasts. Prior to the 2010-11 season, he inked an image of the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, which he ended up hoisting at the end of that season after his Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Terry getting a new tattoo, this one featuring the Celtics logo with the gilded wastebasket, was...

Jason Terry is more KG than Ray

ESPN Boston Let's get one thing out of the way: Jason Terry is not Ray Allen. In fact, personality-wise, the two stand at opposite ends of the spectrum. Both are accomplished professionals, undoubtedly, but where Allen is reserved and stoic, Terry is loud and energetic. In fact, if you're looking for a model to gauge Terry's enthusiasm, look no further than Kevin Garnett...

Jason Terry hopes that the Mavericks retire his jersey

Before deciding to sign with the Boston Celtics, Jason Terry spent eight years with the Dallas Mavericks. In those eight years, Terry won a NBA championship and was consistently one of the best sixth men in the league. Those credentials are nothing to scoff at. There are plenty of players in the league that would love to have a NBA championship and be regarded as one of the best...

Epic Nostalgia: Jason Terry Scores A Career High vs Dirk’s Mavs (2002)

Prior to joining the Mavericks, earning a Sixth Man Award, and winning the NBA Title, Jason Terry played 403 games for the Atlanta Hawks.  Being that all 403 of these games took place during the regular season, this doesn’t represent the most memorable span of JET’s impressive career.  I mean, seriously… when’s the last time you came across any sort of reference to...

Jason Terry thinks the Mavericks should retire his jersey

As expected this summer, Jason Terry left the Dallas Mavericks via free agency and decided to sign with the Boston Celtics after playing eight seasons as a key member of the Mavericks success. Terry’s exit came as a surprise to no one, but some recent comments he made about his value to the franchise are [...]
