Oklahoma City Thunder
Green is finally healthy and the Celtics are hoping he’s going to be a great addition for them off the bench this season. After doctors discovered a heart condition, Green was forced to sit out of the entire 2011/12 season and watch on helplessly from the sidelines.Starting his career with the Seattle Supersonics and then moving to Oklahoma City to play with the Thunder, Green quickly emerged as a dangerous scorer. In five seasons in the league he’s averaged 13.9 points per game and has also chipped in with 5.6 rebounds a contest. The Celtics were excited to have such a scoring presence coming off their bench, which is why they were willing to let Kendrick Perkins go the other way to Oklahoma City.Cue the health scare and here we are.Green has had a whole year to prepare for this and the early signs are looking mighty good. He leads the Celtics in scoring through two preseason games, despite coming off the bench in both. Green obviously will be a major factor in this Doc Rivers team this season and you may want to get ready to start tracking the Celtics with your NBA picks. It couldn’t come at a better time either. Paul Pierce is starting to get up there in age and is going to need more time to rest, meaning Green is sure to get plenty of opportunities to prove his worth. He’ll be a very capable backup at three for Boston. On a little side note, Boston has excellent backups at all the positions. Avery Bradley will back up Rajon Rondo, Jason Terry’s there for Courtney Lee, Jared Sullinger will spell Brandon Bass, and Jason Collins is the backup center to Kevin Garnett.Green is just another piece to the puzzle. Don’t be surprised if he gets a lot of time, even alongside Pierce on the cou

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. The more Doc Rivers sees Darko Milicic, the more he appreciates the talents of the Serbian center.Milicic had nine rebounds and four blocked shots in 19 minutes Sunday against Olimpia Milano. He also had three...
Rajon Rondo made the cover of Boston Common Magazine and they have a pretty lengthy interview and feature on him. Not sure if the author really knows their basketball as they allude to Ray Allen playing the same position as Rondo on the court, but the article does have some good quotes from Rondo.People can judge point guards by assessing passing, scoring, defense, and a slew of...
Boston Celtics guard Jason Terry turned the table on fans and asked them for their autographs. Terry, who won an NBA Championship when he played for the Dallas Mavericks, is used to star struck fans. He got some pretty funny reactions when he gave Bostonians a pen and paper. Check out the video:
Here are some extended highlight videos from this weekend's games courtesy of keepRR from our Shout Box. The first two videos feature the standouts from the Celtics loss in Turkey Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger. Want to write for the most popular independently owned and operated Celtics blog? We don't post ads looking for writers often, but we are looking to add a couple Celtics diehards to our team. A few disclaimers to mention first. We are not looking for occasional writers. We want Bleed Green obsessed diehards who will write daily. By daily we mean every day. We want people who...
I don't watch enough college ball as I probably should, but I do read a lot of draft profiles every June. And from my experience drafting successfully in the NBA is much easier than GM's make it out to be. Basically the easiest way to success is to draft the guys who fall in the draft. When a star like Pierce falls to #10 you snag him. When first round talents like DaJuan...

The Celtics played their second preseason game of the season yesterday, this time in Milan against an Italian league team (their first contest was in Istanbul vs a squad from Turkey).
I’ll be the first to admit that you can’t really infer much based on observations of a couple preseason games in Europe against teams from leagues we know nothing about. As good as Jeff Green...
