Danny kept the gang together and the Celtics responded, snapping a two-game losing streak rolling over the Suns to get their first win of this five game West Coast road-trip. Even without Kevin Garnett held out for rest, the Celtics throttled the hapless Suns and pulled away in the second half on route to a 113-88 victory. Despite having only one legitimate big-man in uniform, the Celtics won the rebounding battle (45-40) and held the Suns to 42% shooting, while the C’s shot a blistering 56%. It was a fun, feel-good win so let’s get to the bullet points:Jeff Green scored a season high 31 to go with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and five blocks in his first start of the season. Green was an incredibly efficient 11-14, caused havoc on both ends of the floor, and tortured Louis Scola. He aggressive, confident, and played so well that he got his name in the title of the post.Terrence Williams is the closest thing the Celtics have had to a point guard since Rondo went down and by the end of the first half I was ready to buy his Jersey. Williams was able to calmly orchestrate the Celtics offense despite only being with the team for three days, showing good decision-making and excellent passing skills. Terrence Williams finished with nine points, four rebounds, and four assists while playing 23 minutes (the most of any Celtic off the bench).Jordan Crawford came out firing, scoring 10 points on 4-9 shooting in 12 minutes. Crawford got off to a rough start before getting in the lane and finding his rhythm. He also didn’t take bad shots, though he was certainly willing to shoot it (only two Celtics took more shots than Crawford). Crawford was also more of a willing passer than advertised and had 2 assists in his limited minutes.Chris Wilcox wanted to come into the game and make an immediate impact. He did just that, scoring 14 points on 7-9 shooting and grabbing eight rebounds. The Celtics only legitimate big-man hustled all over the court, catching lobs, snatching offensive rebounds, and even blocking a shot.Fab Melo was not allowed into the game until garbage time even though the Celtics were desperate for big-men. Read into this as much or as little as you like. The Celtics will have a day off before facing Portland on Sunday, the first game of a back-to-back on the road as Kevin Garnett returns to the starting lineup.
