Been waiting to say this for a while... #iamacelticabout 11 hours ago via Twitter for iPhoneReplyRetweetFavorite@unclejeffgreenjeffFINALLY!!According to the Boston Herald, the deal (reportedly worth $36 million over four years) was held up by insurance issues that flared up because of Green’s heart issue. Also, according to a player source, there were insurance issues to tackle. Green missed last season after having surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. While doctors have told the club there is less risk to Green’s career with this procedure than if he’d had a torn meniscus in his knee — and both player and club are confident he is healthy — there were hoops to jump through with the insurance situation. We’ve been told all along that Green would have no long-term issues after heart surgery. If that’s true, why was insurance such a problem?

#18 Begins in the Off-Season

Paul Pierce posted this photo on his facebook page with the title: "#18 Begins in the Off-Season." I don't think it was by accident that he included the plaque on the wall in the photo. It says What hurts more, The pain of hard work or the pain of regret?Winning a championship does begin in the offseason. It begins with the moves made by the GM and continues with...

Stats show Jeff Green to be “horrific defender”

Sports Illustrated’s Zach Lowe wonders “What does Boston see in Jeff Green?”: Green has ranked as a horrific defender for most of his career, at least by the numbers. The Thunder and Celtics were consistently worse on both ends of the court with Green on the floor versus on the bench, but the damage was usually more dramatic on defense — and especially when Green played...

The Top Five Greatest Celtics Teams: #1 1985-’86 Celtics

The trade for Bill Walton put the Boston Celtics over the Los Angeles Lakers. The greatest team in the history of the Boston Celtics was the 1985-’86 squad. This edition boasted one of the deepest frontcourts of all time with Robert Parish at center, Kevin McHale at power forward, and Larry Bird at small forward in the starting lineup. There was one offseason move that put the...

GreenLight Madness: #9 Seed vs #24 Seed
