J.J. Redick has reportedly drawn interest from the Boston Celtics and other teams. ESPN's Marc Stein reported that the Orland Magic's sharpshooting guard is the player most team officials name when asked "who will definitely be dealt between now and the deadline." What do the Magic want? Draft picks or a good young player on a rookie contact.  Redick joined the Magic's M.A.S.H. unit Saturday, injuring his right shoulder when Milwaukee center Larry Sanders fell on him. Magic beat writer Josh Robbins tweeted that Redick was icing his shoulder after the game, but he "seemed to be OK." Redick made just 5-of-16 shots for 15 points. He played 39 minutes, dished eight assists and two 3-pointers. Andrew Nicholson played just 10 minutes and was in foul trouble. He scored six points and blocked a shot. E'Twaun Moore started for Jameer Nelson, and made just 3-of-14 shots. He ended the night with seven points, seven rebounds, six assists, a steal and a three. Moe Harkless double-doubled with 19 points and 14 rebounds as well as four steals and a block. He's worth keeping an eye on. J.J. Jameer Nelson left Friday's game with a left forearm contusion

Jameer Nelson left Friday's game after suffering a left forearm contusion. Nelson played 19 minutes, made just 1-of-6 shots for two points. He did get two assists and a steal. Nelson left Boston wearing a compression sleeve. He's questionable for Saturday's game with Milwaukee. If Nelson can't play, E'Twaun Moore will likely replace him in the starting lineup...

Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo out Saturday for Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic will be without its starting backcourt Saturday. Arron Afflalo (calf) and Jameer Nelson (forearm) are both out, according to Magic beater writer Josh Robbins. X-rays were negative on Nelson's arm, the Orlando Sentinel reported. This is the fourth game Afflalo has missed. No word on when he's expected back. E'Twaun Moore will need to pick up the...

J.J. Redick latest added to Magic injury list

When it rains, it pours. Late in Saturday's game against Milwaukee, J.J. Redick appeared to be favoring his shoulder as he went to the bench late in the game. Redick had to fight off Monta Ellis for most of the night but it appeared that his foray into the paint is what knicked him this time. And it appears it got him a little bit harder than initially believed. John...

Getting to know the Magic: Jacque Vaughn

The word player-coach stems back to even before the 1960s, when Bill Russell was both player and coach for the Boston Celtics. Although Russell is the most known player-coach in the NBA, the position was a staple for many professional teams. The practice is no longer allowed in the NBA. If it were, one would have to wonder if Orlando Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn could fill the...

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 2/1

What would a Comments post be without a wheelchair mention and some officiating complaints.   Seems like they are in every thread.  Love that our bench is producing so well these past few games.   I was stuck with the Magic feed last night.  I missed Mike and Tommy but even worse, they kept getting the names of the Celtics wrong.   I've highlighted my favorites.  What...

The hits keep coming as Celtics smother Magic

Late in the second quarter, Jameer Nelson went up for a floater, doing all he could to keep the Magic afloat in a poor offensive first half. The shot hit off the back iron and Paul Pierce went up for it grabbing the rebound. Nelson tried to be sneaky and make a play on the ball. Only Pierce's elbow came down hard on Nelson's forearm. Nelson doubled over in pain as Boston...

Big improvements, big challenges after Magic lose to Bucks

Jacque Vaughn says despite it all -- another nine-game losing streak, and losing now 19 of the past 21 games -- his team is approaching the game positively. They are actively trying to solve the problems facing them and buying in to the offense and defense they are playing. There is not any quit in this team, even as they tumble down the standings. Whether this is coach-speak...

Banged-up Magic fall short in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Missing three-fifths of their regular starting lineup, the Orlando Magic could have been easy pickings for a surging Milwaukee Bucks team looking to snap a two-game losing streak. Instead, the Magic made things tough on Milwaukee, which responded to every attempt at an Orlando rally before pulling away late for a 107-98 victory at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The...

Green Envy: What Orlando Magic Fans Said - Feb. 1, 2013

The Boston Celtics won their third-straight game without Rajon Rondo on the floor. With a 97-84 trouncing of the Orlando Magic, Boston is back at .500. Their 23-23 record has them holding tight for the eight-seed in the Eastern Conference. The Magic fans seem fairly reserved to their fate as a cellar team in the East right now, and could definitely use some sort of pick-me-up. ...
