Washington-wizards-draft
Was it so long ago that John Wall was to be the new face of Reebok? And now, less than three years after signing with Reebok, the Washington Wizards guard has jumped ship...to Adidas. The two parties signed a multi-year partnership deal for an undisclosed amount at the end of last week, "I've enjoyed my time with Reebok and I'm grateful for everything we accomplished the last few years," said Wall. "Now, I'm excited to return to the court soon and begin my new partnership with Adidas. They've changed the game with new technology and style and I can't wait to be a part of it." Going forward, Wall will appear in multiple Adidas marketing initiatives and one can assume that the development of a Wall-basketball shoe created by Adidas will be in the works sooner rather than later. "John Wall is a great talent and his quickness, superior athleticism and personality make him one of the most exciting young players in the game," said Lawrence Norman, Adidas VP of global basketball. "We're excited to partner with John to continue to develop new innovative products and grow our brand and business." Wall joins an already long list of basketball players on the Adidas roster including Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard and the more recently signed Ricky Rubio. Wall also joins a growing number of basketball players that are either signing new shoe endorsement deals, such as Rubio, or moving to new companies (notably, Tony Parker signed with Peak last week and Dwyane Wade signed a new deal with Li-Ning near the end of last year) in recent months.
