Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
The Maine Red Claws won their first game of the season as they beat the Canton Charge 123-115. Both of the Celtics rookies, Kris Joseph and Fab Melo, started for the Red Claws. Kris Joseph started off slowly, but finished strong and led all scorers with 28 points to go with a team high 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in 39 minutes of play.
Fab had a bit of a slow start in his first game. He picked up the first foul of the season with 9:11 left in the first. He finished with 2 points and 1 rebound but he also blocked 4 shots in 20 minutes. The Red Claws fell behind at the start but clawed their way back into the game and got the win. The entire game is embedded above in case you missed it.

Jason Terry wore a pair of retro Rebook Iverson Answer IV’s last night in the Celtics win over the Thunder. The Answer IV is the same model AI wore while stepping over Celtic’s coach Tyronn Lue in the 2001 playoffs. Terry has been doing a lot to bring “Reebok Back” in Boston. This colorway of the Answer IV release a few months back and sold out quickly. You can still...
While you are digesting your Thanksgiving turkey, enjoy some of the bright spots of the game yesterday. Rajon Rondo dropped 22 points and 15 assists and almost brought the Celtics back, as the Celtics lost 112-102.

Last night Jason Terry hit a buzzer beating three pointer to give the C's a 48-45 lead at halftime. With 3:27 to go in the 4th he nailed a big jumper to help fend off OKC's rally, and keep the Boston lead in double digits. At the 2:28 mark he knocked another 3 that would have extended the Celtics lead to 10, but it was waived off because of a foul away from the ball....
I just got back from an 8-hour drive this Saturday with only one thing on my mind…except for a couple X-rated things. I just wanted to sit on my couch, watch the Celtics play the not so exciting Raptors. Why would I be so enthralled over one lousy regular season game? The answer has two words. RAJON RONDOOOOOOO. Man, I haven’t been so excited over a player on the Celtics since...
Here's a nice video to warm your heart this holiday weekend. EK just shared it with me and I thought you all would like it. While I can't personally vouch for the charity (Just saw the video and haven't done any research, but appears pretty legit to me) I feel I should share their story that they attached to the video: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/bNnE3 More then...
After having his best night of the season and helping the Celtics beat the Thunder 108-100, Jeff Green said he was not motivated by the fact that he used to play for the Thunder. Jason Terry was another Celtic who had a big night, scoring 16 points wich included a huge three-pointer with 36 seconds [...]
Just thought I'd share a bit of nostalgia. Above is the 1995 All American High School Slam Dunk Contest featuring Paul Pierce, Kris Clack and Vince Carter. Carter eventually won but The Captain had some impressive dunks as well and made it to the Finals. After the Jump you'll see some of the highlights from the 1995 McDonalds All American game.
This was one of the...
So I may have reached a bit with my headline, but I needed that win.
Fueled by Paul Pierce and Jeff Green, the Celtics beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 108-100. While Pierce and Green deserve credit for strong individual performances, this truly was a team effort. The Celtics had 8 offensive rebounds. The bench cranked out 35 points. The defense came alive (in the 2nd and 3rd quarters...
Great win for the Celtics last night at TD Garden as they beat OKC 108-100. Of the games I’ve been to so far this year, last night’s had easily the best atmosphere. The crowd was fired-up and it definitely had a playoff feel, even though it’s only November.
Here are some great pics & GIFs from the game via HoopChina. C’s are off today and next play tomorrow night...
Follow Mike Macchi on Twitter The answer quite simply is NO! This is by no means a knock on Gortat and his game. Gortat is a very good complimentary player who has played very well in the role he has been asked to play in over the years, first with the Magic and now with [...]
If Michael Jordan can do it, why can't Michael Finley? There are far too many reasons for me to name here. However, that doesn't keep Finley from wanting to make a comeback. The former Dallas Mavericks forward has been working with Mark Cuban in the team's front office, but he's been staying in shape and wants to play again. According to Marc Stein of ESPN...
Mickael Pietrus remains a free agent, but is receiving interest from a number of teams.
The Boston Celtics entered Thanksgiving with many things to be thankful for, especially forwards Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox. Both players are coming off heart surgery that ended their seasons prematurely last year.
The Celtics lost two straight going into their game against the defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder at the TD Garden on Friday night. In those...
Last week it was Juan Dixon.
Now Michael Finley wants to call it a comeback.
Apparently age is nothing but a number to guys like Dixon (34 years old) and Finley (39 years old) as they still feel like they have something to offer to NBA teams around the league besides a chance to increase a teams’ average age.
ESPN.com’s Marc Stein is reporting Finley -- the former...
Celtics (13-4) vs. Pacers (9-12)
Friday, November 23
Just a month after the Celtics dropped their first game of the season in Indiana to the Pacers, Boston looked for a little retribution on their home floor. The Pacers were struggling coming into the Garden, having lost three of the last four. The Celtics smelled blood against Slick Leonard’s bunch and allowed...
