J.R. Smith gave a little nod to Victor Cruz following his game winning shot to lead the Knicks over the Bobcats on Wednesday night. Check out below J.R.’s version of Victor Cruz’ salsa touchdown dance while he was heading to the locker room. The tribute wasn’t lost on Victor and he was asked about it on Thursday:
It was good to see, it’s not every day you hit a game-winner and get to salsa on them a little bit.
Cruz said it was only a matter of seconds before his phone “blew up” with messages from friends who saw Smith’s dance.
Cruz immediately texted his old friend, writing “You didn’t have to salsa on them like that. LOL!”
It seems like we have an old fashioned dance off on our hands.

With the score tied at 98 with under four seconds left, New York Knicks forward J.R. Smith took the inbounds pass and hit the game-winning basket at the buzzer to give the Knicks the win over the Charlotte Bobcats.
Smith scored 13 points for the game and also made the critical steal of a Bobcats pass to give the Knicks the final possession of the game.
J.R. Smith’s former flame K. Michelle, who was a cast member on the latest season of VH1′s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, stopped by Hot 97 NY Thursday where she admitted she messed things up between her and J.R. and she’ll do anything to get him back. The R&B singer even belted out a few lines of a song she wrote about him:

JR Smith was having a bad shooting night when the Knicks matched up against the Bobcats on Wednesday. But shooters, shoot and he eventually worked his way through that to hit back-to-back three point shots. One of which was a buzzer-beating-game-winner. Owwwww nice work Earl! With Carmelo Anthony on the bench due to a cut finger, the New York Knicks needed to look for a new hero to beat the Charlotte Bobcats and collect their 13th win of the season.
That hero ended up being reserve guard J.R. Smith who had the ball in his hands with the score tied at 98 with less than four seconds to go in the game.

Oh, the career of J.R. Smith.
Smith has long been an incredibly talented player and shooter. He started his career as an athletic slasher who could dunk. He always had a lot of talent but fell short of it for so long. One of the what-ifs of the early-2000s...
Last night against the Bobcats, Melo suffered a laceration to a finger on his left hand after diving into the stands. Two minutes later, J.R. Smith drilled a game winning 3 and took the Knicks to victory.

As for Carmelo, well he’s not too sure if he’s playing tonight in a much anticipated Eastern Conference match against the flimsy Heat. He’s saying...
Following J.R. Smith’s game-winning shot in Charlotte Wednesday night, the Knicks guard celebrated with the salsa dance made famous by Giants wide receiver, and friend, Victor Cruz. Cruz, who played AAU ball with J.R. growing up, caught the game and has some pointers on how Smith can improve his dance moves:
“When he hit it I almost jumped off the couch and then when he was coming...
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz enjoyed seeing his buddy J.R. Smith do a salsa celebration after hitting the game-winning jumper for the New York Knicks Wednesday night.
“I hit him up right after and we started talking about it. He started laughing and stuff like that,” Cruz said. “It’s good to see. It’s not every day you hit a game-winner and he gets to...
Michael Buffer assured that the Bobcats were ready to rumble with the Knicks, and rumble they did. Win, however, they did not. With Carmelo Anthony having left the game due to a laceration on his left hand (which he incurred as he dove into the first row in an effort to secure a loose ball), Mike Woodson and company were forced to look in JR Smith’s direction in the final seconds...
In their continuing quest to seek out new ways to lose in the most agonizing manner possible, the Bobcats discovered two gems this week. On Monday they went from hitting the Ben Gordon Lottery to flat broke in 5 minutes. On Wednesday they figured, “Why bother trying to defeat the Knicks ourselves when J.R. Smith [...]
