Nothing is official. No talks have been made. This is just a thought I had while thinking about the Warriors. I am sure many out there think I am nuts for suggesting this and I probably am but hear me out.
Azubuike recently had a knee surgery to fix the mistakes made in the surgery he had in 09. Needless to say the guy has not played since then. The Warriors had traded him to the Knicks in the David Lee trade but he was waived by the Knicks when the realized he wasn’t going to be playing for them last season.
Two knee surgeries and two non seasons of baseketball is the reason I want him back. It may sound crazy but the Warriors need cheap players. With a limited salary cap a guy like Azubukie could prove to be a very good bargain.
Before the injuries Kelenna was a good player. He would probably be ready to deman a pretty good salary if not for the injury. But with the injury and not playing for two years no team is going to give him much until he can prove his knee is fine and his skills haven’t declined.
I am not saying the Warriors have to give him a spot on the team but why not invite him to summer camp and see what he can give you? If he is even two thirds of his former self he would be a big improvment to the Warriros bench situation.
I don’t believe he will be up snuff but I just don’t see the harm in giving him a shot.
