PLAYERS: Kenyon Martin
TEAMS: New York Knicks
Via Gary Washburn It took longer than expected for Kenyon Martin to find an NBA home this season, but the veteran forward is glad he landed with the New York Knicks. “I would love to stay a Knick,” he said. “I don’t want to go nowhere. I am proving to this organization what I can be and who I am as a person on and off the court, and I think they see that. I’m here now and I’m going to make the best of this opportunity.” The Knicks are 13-6 since Martin first played for the team on Feb. 24. Great article by Gary Washburn from the Boston Globe. I think the entire Knicks nation and organization are happy with Kenyon Martin. The real question is…can Martin stay healthy for the rest of the year and how much will he want, to stay on for next year? Martin has said money is not an issue, but I find it hard to believe he will play his heart out and then come back next year for just the veterans minimum. Time will tell on this subject. I can say this though, Kenyon Martin is welcomed back to this team with open arms!   Peter A – Knickswag The post Kenyon Martin Wants to be a Knick Next Year appeared first on Knickswag - A New York Knicks Blog - News, Rumors, and more!.

New York Knicks – A Moment Of Appreciation

The New York Knicks began this season as a punchline to many NBA analysts. They were a collection of mismatched, over the hill veterans put around a me-first gunner who couldn’t carry a team, the worst contract in the NBA and an impossible to coach bench scorer. Their offense was going to be ran by a downgrade from Jeremy Lin at point guard and they’d be forced to put too much...

Photo: Steve Novak Lost A Bet To Carmelo Anthony, Had To Wear Orange Warm-ups

New York Knicks teammates Carmelo Anthony and Steve Novak apparently put a little wager on the Elite Eight matchup between their alma maters this past weekend. And since Syracuse defeated Marquette to reach the Final Four, Novak had to wear an orange tracksuit on Monday. Of course, Anthony made sure there were pictures of the occasion, as he posted them to his Instagram account...

Turn On The Knicks 12 Pack – We’re Streaking Edition

The winning streak continues to roll on for the New York Knicks, who are now at ten straight victories. While the first half of the winning streak was marked by “Good JR” taking his game to another level, recently Carmelo Anthony has stole the show with 90 points…yes 90 points…over the past two games. Either way -  On to the 12 pack… 1. One of the most foolish things...

Turn On The Knicks Throwback Thursday – April 4th Edition

This week’s TOK Throwback Thursday isn’t for the faint of heart. In a cruel way, Kevin Ware’s gruesome leg break has captivated America. I can’t remember the last time so many people who never expressed interest in basketball before approached me to get my take on the situation. Sadly, it has nothing to do with the beauty of the game. Ware’s injury is by far the most brutal...

Carmelo Anthony Gets No Respect

A few nights ago Carmelo Anthony dropped 50 points on the Miami Heat (minus LBJ, D-Wade) and last night he dropped 40 on Atlanta, but know one in the league mentioned it. Yea a short media bite on ESPN and NBATV, but in the end this was not nearly as mentioned in the same breath the way Stephen Curry’s 50+ night was at MSG. Why is this this? Why does Melo not get the respect and...

The slumping Milwaukee Bucks, in contrast, appear to be falling apart at a less than opportune time. Carmelo’s 50 and Other Memorable Knick Offensive Explosions

By Charles R. Trimble III After hearing whispers that the Knicks were better off without him, Carmelo Anthony has quieted that talk by catapulting his game to a level not seen around here since the days of Bernard King. His recent 131-point explosion against the Heat, Hawks and Bucks brought back memories of some of the greatest offensive performances ever by a Knickerbocker. Below...
