Found September 10, 2012 on Celtics Town:
Confirming a belief that has been much talked about here on Celticstown, Kevin Garnett has recently confirmed via hoopshype “I will retire a Celtic for sure”.Kevin Garnett is currently under a three year contract which will take him until the age of 39.  To give an idea of the shelf life of an NBA player, Steve Nash is 38 and Juwan Howard is 39.  While the latter is a living dinosaur, the first is an important piece of what the Lakers hope is a championship team.  KG could very well retire at the end of his contract and still be effective up until his last blocked shot after the whistle.KG confirming that the Celtics team will be his last also means he can truly unload all of the knowledge he has acquired over the years on the younger members of the Celtics.  The benefactors: Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo, among others are some of the most fortunate people in the NBA; all they have to do is listen to tap one of the NBA’s deepest knowledge wells.Overall good news for the Celtics, and a...

Shaq crosses the street in his underwear

I had no idea that Shaquille O’Neal had his own comedy network. The Comedy Shaq Network recently featured a video of Shaq in his underwear walking across a pretty busy street. The bit is funny, although not as hysterical as the dudes laughing in the background would make you believe. You can now call him Shaq Dice Clay. Ooooo.

Shaq: Not playing basketball in Mexico

According to the man himself, there is no truth to the rumors that Shaquille O'Neal will be playing games in a Mexican basketball league next month.

Rondo Has Fun on BET's 106 & Park

Rajon Rondo looked relaxed and in his element as he appeared on BET's 106 and Park.  He discussed King of the Rock, his trip to China, and his internship at GQ.   When asked if he talked to Jesue, Ray Allen, he asked "who?" and when they repeated it, he said, "Oh that guy."  Something tells me that Rondo isn't going to miss Ray all that much this...

Bill Russell has had multiple heart procedures in past month

Disturbing news today as it is being reported by The New York Post’s Peter Vescey that Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell has had two heart procedures performed on him in the last month. This is certainly something to keep an eye on considering Russell’s age. He is 78 years old and he is the Celtics legend having won the most NBA Championships of any player in the league ever...

Celtics: A Brotherhood

In the concluding piece of our Generations series, we take a look at Big Red, Dave Cowens, and Big Ticket, Kevin Garnett - Celtics brothers born in different eras but cut from the same cloth.  Both represented the spirit of their teams, often igniting the fire that stoked the C's soul.  They are the leaders their teammates looked up to and relied upon - both on the court and...

Titanic Division No More

In recent years, the Atlantic Division has won the nickname of the Titanic Division. The Celtics have had an easy time of it in their own division, winning the last 5 division championships. In recent years, the other 4 teams in the division have been easy pickings for the rest of the league. And, before 2008, even the Celtics were included in the weak teams of the division. ...
