Kevin Love has developed into one of the best players in the NBA, but the Timberwolves did not appear to view him that way when it came to their contract negotiations.Love wanted a five-year contract extension from the team — the maximum they could have offered, but they offered him a four-year deal instead. Kevin Love injures elbow while asleep

In a move usually reserved more for baseball players, the T'Wolves all-star says sleeping in an odd-position all night caused him to have to sit out a practice.

Roy logs heavy minutes, responds well

MINNEAPOLIS To the ignorant eye, Brandon Roy looks anything but frail, and those knees are just knees. To the ignorant ear, the thud of his 210-pound frame hitting the hardwood sounds no louder than any other thud, the squeak of his shoes as he slides no shriller than any other squeak. But to those of us who know, we cringe. We see Roy as a little weaker than we'd ever let him...

Stiemsma finally feeling secure in NBA

MINNEAPOLIS This summer, the man who's played basketball everywhere from South Korea to South Dakota only had to hop in his car. It was less than a four-hour drive for Greg Stiemsma to his meetings with the Timberwolves in Minneapolis during free agency this summer. No plane ticket was necessary, and so the man accustomed to living time zones away from his Wisconsin home had...

Wolves Tuesday: Focused on improving

MINNEAPOLIS The Timberwolves are making Tuesday night about themselves. Its their second preseason game at the Target Center, and theyre facing off against Israeli team Maccabi Bazan Haifa (and their glaringly green uniforms). If this game mattered, it would have involved a ton of scouting and film work after all, the best exposure Haifa had came last week, when it nearly beat...

The Blazers are coming off an apocalypse type of year - the once promising, consistent young team that Rip City fell in love with imploded, the steady head coach got fired...
