Be careful opposing NBA players, the New York Knicks are monitoring your trash talk. The Knicks placed two microphones on opposite ends of the court to record all conversations Carmelo Anthony was having against the Bulls, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. The move was made to protect the star forward, not to spy on him, according to ESPN.com. The recordings will be sent straight to owner James Dolan, who is trying to determine if opposing players are targeting Anthony with excessive trash talk. The measures were taken following the incident between Anthony and Kevin Garnett on Jan. 7 that resulted in a one-game suspension for the Knick. Anthony confronted Garnett outside the arena following comments the Celtics’ forward reportedly made about Anthony’s wife. There is no rule against having recording equipment on the court. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau had no issue with the measures the Knicks were taking.
