twitter.com/kobebryant While many sports fans were checking out the Daytona 500, Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers were busy out-dueling Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks, 103-99 in Dallas on Sunday afternoon. The two stars turned the contest into their own shoot around at one point — Bryant had 38 points and Nowitzki finished with a season-high 30. But, with both teams under .500, who cared about this game? Kobe Bryant cared, especially after Mark Cuban suggested to a Dallas radio station last week that the Lakers could amnesty Kobe next season. Release. Kobe. Bryant. “If you look at their payroll, even if Dwight (Howard) comes back, you’ve got to ask the question: Should they amnesty Kobe?” Cuban said on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM’s “Ben and Skin Show.” “So I’m just saying that hypothetically. When I say amnesty Kobe, I don’t think they’d do it, but they’ve got some choices to make. Now, they’re in a big market, but they’re still limited. The Knicks, the same thing. Boston, same thing.” As you can see from the tweet at the top of this post, Kobe noticed. Cuban noticed the 38 that ‘Black Mamba’ put on his team and the tweet. He responded like only Cuban would. Nice to know there is a least one team and theirplayers, outside of the Mavs, that listen to everything I say. — Mark Cuban (@mcuban) February 24, 2013 But I do have to give props to @kobebryant for a great tweet. #Welldone. — Mark Cuban (@mcuban) February 24, 2013 [@kobebryant; @mcuban] Filed under: Basketball
