The Los Angeles Lakers appeared to question Pau Gasol’s conditioning after the forward struggled in a 113-97 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. Gasol had just eight points on 3-for-10 shooting in 37 minutes, and Kobe Bryant specifically questioned his teammate’s shape. “Pau is used to laboring up the floor and coasting a little bit,” Kobe Bryant said, via the LA Daily News. “In this offense, we have to put the motor on the first few steps we move up the court.” The Daily News notes that Gasol was beat by Kings center DeMarcus Cousins on back-to-back plays in the second quarter. They say coach Mike D’Antoni even hinted at a conditioning issue. “Pau didn’t have his legs,” D’Antoni said after the game. Gasol didn’t seem to think his conditioning is a problem. He seemed to think he just needs to adjust to the new coach’s system. “I don’t know if it’s extremely physically demanding.” Gasol said. “It’s an offense that you have to move and have to be on the go and get

Lakers worried about Gasol's conditioning?

Some Lakers personnel indicated after a recent loss that they are concerned about Pau Gasol's conditioning.

Mike D’Antoni benched Pau Gasol because he wanted to win the game

While some members of the Los Angeles Lakers may be happy with the hiring of Mike D’Antoni as the team’s head coach, Pau Gasol surely is displeased. The four-time All-Star has experienced two of his poorest statistical games this season in the last two Lakers contests — both losses. Gasol also found himself on the bench for the entire fourth quarter of the 106-98 loss to the...

Howard clowns on Kobe for his age

Tweet While the Los Angeles Lakers are struggling during a two-game losing streak, it appears that first-year Laker Dwight Howard hasn’t lost his wild sense of humor. Here’s video of Howard clowning Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant’s age on a recent team flight: I’m not too sure how Kobe or fans will respond to Howard’s joking [...]

Morales: The case of the misused, misplaced, and just plain missed Pau Gasol

Whether it’s the offensive system that’s causing it, or whether it’s the pairing alongside another dominant low post threat, Pau Gasol has just not been himself in recent years.  Since the Los Angeles Lakers’ failed defense of their back to back championships in 2011, Gasol has gone MIA and has left the rest of Lakers [...]The post Morales: The case of the misused, misplaced...

Dwight Howard clowns while on Lakers charter following loss to Kings

Chemistry is important. How teammates “click” at times can have a lot of influence on the court. The Lakers are still finding their way on a team that has two major additions. Lakers' Pau Gasol Playing Through Knee Injury

It's nothing serious.  For now.  But Pau Gasol has been playing through knee tendinitis.  The Los Angeles Lakers' forward has complained about getting touches and has not looked as good as he has in years past.  Part of this, of course, is age, but the other part could be the knee problem.Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times says Gasol has been dealing with the tendinitis...

Kobe Bryant has bestowed upon Steve Nash one heck of a terrific nickname

Things haven’t worked out quite as well as everyone thought they would for the Lakers this season.  After bringing in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the offseason, the team was slow to start the season, which ended up costing head coach Mike Brown his job.  Nash meanwhile is out indefinitely with a non-displace leg fracture, which means Kobe Bryant has picked up the slack in...

Nash doubts he'll be ready by Tuesday

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash said Friday that he doubts he will be ready to play by Tuesday, according to ESPN Los Angeles. Nash still cannot jog or participate in any on-court drills without pain. The veteran fractured his left leg in the Lakers' season-opener on Oct. 31. He sustained the injury when he bumped knees with Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard...

Lakers wrap up road trip with rout of Mavs

DALLAS -- The Los Angeles Lakers finally delivered a little Showtime Saturday night to prop up an otherwise disappointing road trip. Blistering first-half shooting set up the 115-89 rout of the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center, the type of high-octane performance -- if not the massive scoring discrepancy -- the Lakers hope can become more routine under new coach Mike...

Lakers start hot, roll past Mavericks

DALLAS (AP) -- Metta World Peace hit three early 3-pointers to spark a Los Angeles barrage from long range, and the Lakers scored 36 points before Kobe Bryant took his first shot in a 115-89 blowout of the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. Bryant, the league's leading scorer, finished with 19 once he did start shooting as the Lakers hit the century mark for the first time...

Grizzlies 106, Lakers 98

MEMPHIS, Tn. -- The Memphis Grizzlies always realize when a game against the Los Angeles Lakers is on the line in the final few minutes, the ball belongs to Lakers' guard Kobe Bryant. Stop Bryant and you get the win. After leading by six points with 2:24 left, the Grizzlies held serve. Despite Bryant scoring 14 of his game-high 30 points in the final quarter, Memphis held...
