Photo Credit: Katu.com/AP Despite reigning Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard’s impressive campaign last season, it seems that all is not well in Rip City with the Portland Trailblazers. Lillard’s fellow building block, LaMarcus Aldridge, is reportedly looking to bolt Portland, not wanting to be part of a rebuilding process. In fact, Aldridge already has his next destination in mind, playing with Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. Here are some details from Ben Golliver  of BlazersEdge via Mike Mcgraw of the Daily Herald: Word is, Aldridge wants to escape from Portland’s rebuilding project and has made it known that he’d like to land in Chicago. Deng for Aldridge won’t get it done. The Blazers want Joakim Noah in return and the Bulls don’t want to give up the superior defensive big man. McGraw continues to supply a more realistic solution: Here’s one way to get Portland’s attention: Offer Deng and Charlotte’s future No. 1 pick. The Bulls are counting on that Bobcats’ pick (acquired for Thomas, ironically), to pay off big, because it’s unprotected in 2016. Golliver provides additional information about Aldridge’s status with the Blazers: A Blazers spokesperson told Blazersedge on Wednesday that GM Neil Olshey — who has been in his annual media blackout for pre-draft preparations — was “unavailable for comment” regarding Aldridge trade rumors and reports. Also in May, Aldridge offered this assessment of his standing with the Blazers. LA: You know, as of now I’m here and we have a great team. I’m here now and we have a team that can definitely get better next year and we have cap room so we can bring in players. So I’m definitely here, and we’ll see what happens. You never like when a player says things like “as of now I’m here,” and “we’ll see what happens.” It doesn’t sound like Aldridge would be broken up if the Blazers decided to go in a different direction. To be honest, I was surprised to find out that Deng is only 28 years old, but his injuries have to be a concern for any potential trade partner. The Charlotte pick that is owned by the Bulls may prove to be very valuable, as the Bobcats don’t look like they’ll be in contention anytime soon. However, if the Blazers are looking for Joakim Noah, I don’t think the Bulls are playing ball. Aldridge would obviously be a great fit for the Bulls, who would probably have to find a new home for Carlos Boozer if this deal were to happen. For the Blazers, the deal is definitely a white flag that the rebuilding process is in full effect. If the Blazers could also grab a young player like Jimmy Butler or Marquis Teague along with the Charlotte pick, they may have to consider the move.
