First things first, we're 29-3 and you're not. Lest you forget my friends. Secondly, that record puts us on pace for more than 70-wins, which is nice. However, there are a few things developing, mostly as a result of that gaudy record, that I find particularly annoying. The first is the perception amongst some fans (Detroit and otherwise) that somehow Boston Celtics fans don't understand the difference between having a great record, and being a championship team. Let's get one thing straight; we know the difference in Boston. The unfortunate side effect of a 20-year drought is that a whole generation of people doesn't understand that the Boston Celtics have always been about winning rings. We don't celebrate making the playoffs, or conference finals, we don't hang banners for anything other than championships and lest you forget our rafters are full. This is Boston; we don't do moral victories here. It's all ring or nothing. So you can spare us all the history lesson. However, if you do care to know, we've won 20 conference titles, 25 division titles, and have been to the playoffs 54 times in the illustrious history of the Celtics. So my friends in Detroit, you still want to brag about your five trips to the Eastern Conference Finals? I didn't think so.
