Jackie MacMullan was just on WEEI talking Celtics, and one thing that she said that immediately caught everyone's attention was Ray Allen's sore left ankle, which has cost him the last two games. She said "It's going to be an ongoing concern" and that it "will need to be fixed at some point."
I'm not sure exactly what that means about the extent of Ray's injury. He played on the left ankle since the injury, but it recently started to give him problems again.
Ray has had a history of ankle injuries. Take a look at this story from April of 2007:
Allen had been bothered by the ankle since early February, but didn't reveal the injury until March 1.
Nevertheless, after sitting out on March 1, Allen scored at least 22 points in each of the next seven games. But he sat down for good after struggling in a game March 18 in Portland.
Don't those two circumstances now sound eerily similar?
I'm not sure if this is as...

Ray Allen has been a pillar of durability since joining the Boston Celtics in 2007, missing just 16 games during his first four seasons in Boston. Preparation and diligence kept Allen’s body younger than its age, and so history’s most prolific three-point shooter masked the ankle injuries that impacted the end of his Seattle Supersonics tenure.Unfortunately for the Celtics...
Ray Allen update from ESPN Boston:Celtics guard Ray Allen will miss the next two games due to a sore right ankle. The ankle flared up at the end of an eight-game road trip, forcing him to sit out Friday’s game in Philadelphia. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he underwent an MRI Saturday, which was negative, but Allen will also miss Sunday’s visit from Washington and Monday’s...
Celtics Town’s Jay King has been kind enough to fill in for CLNS Radio’s locker room reporter, Jared Weiss, Wednesday night as the Boston Celtics face-up against the Utah Jazz. Prior to heading over to TD Garden for tonight’s game, King posted a few updates on the, not-so-discussed, injury to Ray Allen’s surgically repaired [...]

E'Twaun Moore and Sasha Pavlovc will have to be ready to make a major contribution. Yes, it's the Wizards and Charlotte.... but the Celtics should take nothing for granted. They are too close to Philly to be OK with losses to bad teams, injuries or not. As of right now, the C'...
WALTHAM, Mass. - The Celtics took a step toward filling out their banged-up backcourt on Wednesday as Ray Allen participated in the morning walkthrough. Allen, who missed the last three games, is a gametime decision with a sore right ankle. Allen has appeared in 41 of the Celtics' 49 games this season. He is averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting a career-best 45.9 percent...
Boston Celtics veteran guard Ray Allen has been ruled out of Monday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Allen's ankle flared up prior to Friday's contest versus the Philadelphia 76ers. He then sat out Sunday's tilt against the Washington Wizards.
After Monday's game, the Celtics will return to action versus the Utah Jazz.
Allen is averaging 14.6 points, 3...
Ray Allen will miss his fourth consecutive game Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, leaving Avery Bradley to make his third straight start.Doc Rivers said before Wednesday’s game that he is not overly concerned about Allen’s injury, but history’s most prolific three-point shooter did not feel well enough to play after going through his normal pregame shooting routine.“He’s...
Lots of KG hate from Jazz fans. It's funny how different fan bases hate different players. In Utah it's KG, in Chicago it's Rondo, in other places it's Pierce and in a few places it's even Ray Allen. Glad at least one fan stuck up for KG, though. For all their complaints about the refs and them not getting any calls, they shot 3 more free throws than...
#CelticsTalk: Ray Allen out tonight and Mon. vs #Bobcats. Avery Bradley expected to start tonight vs #Wizards.— A. Sherrod Blakely (@SherrodbCSN) March 25, 2012
From CSNNE.com's game preview, released about an an hour ago. Bradley looks like he will play tonight against the Wizards, Pietrus will probably be out, and not sure on Ray yet.
Mickael Pietrus suffered a concussion in the second quarter of the
Sixers loss. He told CSNNE.com that he's unlikely to play tonight, and
wasn't sure if he would be able to play Monday at...
For Avery Bradley to soar, Ray Allen had to stumble and Mickael Pietrus had to fall. That is the cold, hard reality of the NBA, where they say nobody wants to see anyone get hurt but where everyone needs to be ready to play in the event something unexpected happens. Early in the season, Bradley was penciled in as a third-string shooting guard or possibly a point guard in mop-up duty...
Ray Allen has not played since March 22 against the Bucks when he sustained a right ankle injury.
After trading away anyone of substance from their roster at the deadline and firing their coach shortly after, the Portland Trail Blazers have reopened their search for a general manager.
I know what you're thinking. Big whoop. Good for them. They're 3,000 miles away. What does that have to do with the Celtics?
According to The Oregonian, one person that Portland...
