NBA Injury News:
BEST OF MAXIM
J.J. Redick has reportedly drawn interest from the Boston Celtics and other teams. ESPN's Marc Stein reported that the Orland Magic's sharpshooting guard is the player most team officials name when asked "who will definitely be dealt
between now and the deadline."
What do the Magic want? Draft picks or a good young player on a rookie contact.
BOSTON — Seven years removed from his last 3-pointer with Duke, J.J. Redick does not receive the same relentless treatment from fans as he did early in his career. Back then, the anti-Duke armies at certain arenas would boo loudly whenever the former NCAA Player of the Year touched the ball or kinda, sorta exaggerated contact whenever a defender bumped him. Although he never averaged...
When it rains, it pours.
Late in Saturday's game against Milwaukee, J.J. Redick appeared to be favoring his shoulder as he went to the bench late in the game. Redick had to fight off Monta Ellis for most of the night but it appeared that his foray into the paint is what knicked him this time.
And it appears it got him a little bit harder than initially believed.
The Magic have made no secret that they are hoping to develop talent and home-grow a team. That is the process the Spurs and Thunder used. That is why every trade rumor includes a desire for Orlando to acquire draft picks or young players on cheap contracts.
This season though is also about the development of Jacque Vaughn as a head coach.
Vaughn has been out of the NBA for...
Lots of guys sitting out tonight. Here's who we know for sure won't be suiting up:
If there was a sense of urgency in this snoozer of a game, it likely came in the fourth quarter. The Magic were not getting much offensively, were doing enough defensively to keep the scoring margin close but not inspiring much hope that they would come back and win. Not with Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo and J.J. Redick out with nagging injuries. Orlando had just nine players available...

Last night's victory over the Orlando Magic was the least bit impressive.
The victory was not the night's biggest story; Thaddeus Young's injury was. Young suffered a left hamstring strain during second quarter of the Sixers 78-62 victory over the Magic. News came back, but Young did not.
Today, Young went and got an MRI done on the hamstring and it revealed that he has...

Jacque Vaughn says despite it all -- another nine-game losing streak, and losing now 19 of the past 21 games -- his team is approaching the game positively. They are actively trying to solve the problems facing them and buying in to the offense and defense they are playing.
There is not any quit in this team, even as they tumble down the standings.
Whether this is coach-speak...
When J.J. Redick jokingly said the basketball gods were against the Magic after three tip-in attempts failed to send the Magic to overtime against the Pistons, you could take it as the light-hearted frustration of a team on a losing streak.
Of course, then Glen Davis went down with a fractured left foot and his career season was cut off prematurely. Then you step back and consider...
MILWAUKEE -- Missing three-fifths of their regular starting lineup, the Orlando Magic could have been easy pickings for a surging Milwaukee Bucks team looking to snap a two-game losing streak. Instead, the Magic made things tough on Milwaukee, which responded to every attempt at an Orlando rally before pulling away late for a 107-98 victory at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The...

Though Philadelphia has struggled with Orlando in recent years, a visit from the reeling Magic might provide the 76ers with a good chance to match their longest winning streak of the season.
Hoping to further take advantage of a favorable stretch on their longest homestand of the season, the 76ers look for a third straight victory...
