New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, who hasn't played all season as he returns from a surgically repaired left knee, will not play Sunday, but will join the team for next week's road trip.   "We did talk this morning in great detail, but nothing has been defined yet in terms of when he's going to return," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said after...

Carmelo Anthony and Company Rally Knicks Over Timberwolves

Last season, the Knicks struggled with their consistency (or lack there of) virtually all season long. Though they teased fans with fun and exciting victories over some of the league's various powerhouses, New York simply couldn't prove steady enough to put away the weaker ones on a nightly basis. But that was the Knicks of old. The Knicks of old not only lacked a killer instinct...

Are The Knicks A Soft Team?

The Knicks were thoroughly beaten despite the final score by the Chicago Bulls a few nights ago for the second time this season. Of the Knicks seven losses this season, you can argue that four have come at the hands of teams that play a very physical style of play. The first sign that a physical team could be the Knicks’ kryptonite was the 105-95 loss at Memphis, when Carmelo...

Knicks Weekly Breakdown

New York Knicks weekly breakdown: 12/16 – 12/22   What happened: The Knicks saw their undefeated run at home come to an end, losing games to the Rockets and Bulls at Madison Square Garden. J.R. Smith Dunks On Greg Stiemsma (Video)

As Carmelo Anthony aptly noted, anything shy of ‘getting to the Eastern Conference finals’ will be a bust for the New York Knicks

Superstar forward Carmelo Anthony rightfully said anything shy of an appearance in the Eastern Conference finals would be an “unacceptable” outcome for the New York Knicks in 2013. At 20-7, and despite being a collection of Golden Girls in high … Continue reading →

POTD 12/23/12: JR Smith on Greg Stiemsma

Sometimes, when I see JR Smith dunk, I wonder why he doesn’t do so as often as he used to.  Then it hits me: JR Smith is a nine-year NBA veteran.  It doesn’t seem like it’s been nearly that long since the New Orleans Hornets plucked him straight out of high school, and he doesn’t always conduct himself like elder statesman, but it has indeed been almost a decade since he...

Bad Boys II

Somewhere, Chuck Daly looked down and smiled as he saw the Bulls versus Knicks game a few nights ago.  The Bulls took a classic page out of the old Bad Boys team, and got in to the heads of the Knicks, with hard physical play and pushing the Knicks out of their comfort zone and that achieved their goal of getting the win versus a more talented team.  For the third time this year...

Wolves downed by rallying Knicks

NEW YORK (AP) -- Blame the Christmas carols. In a "Bah humbug!" moment, Carmelo Anthony jokingly suggested the halftime music messed up the mood, offering that among a couple of reasons for the Knicks' slow start Sunday. He made sure no excuses were needed at the end. Anthony scored 19 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter, rallying New York to a 94-91 victory over...

Knicks 94, Timberwolves 91

NEW YORK -- After a lackluster start, Carmelo Anthony turned it on in the final minutes and so did the New York Knicks, who squeezed out a 94-91 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Anthony, cold from the floor for most of the game and down to his last foul with 3:04 left in the game, finished with 33 points, scoring the Knicks' last 12...
