Minnesota Timberwolves forward Martell Webster had a lot of questions to answer after Monday night's 103-101 loss in Denver to the Nuggets after a mental lapse which squandered an opportunity to tie the game with under 5 seconds left in overtime.
With 4.9 seconds left in overtime and the Nuggets holding a 102-99 lead, Webster stole the Nuggets inbounds pass. However, instead of looking for a three point shot, Webster dribbled straight to the basket for a slam dunk, leaving teammates and Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman completely perplexed.
Webster said after the game that he thought he could get fouled on the way to the hoop. Hopefully Coach Adelman will straighten him out for next time.
