Hawks Locker :
25-year old small forward Marvin Williams has come out this year like a ball of fire. He has played in 2 games (both starts) for the Hawks so far this year and he is averaging 26.0 minutes, 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Williams wants to keep his starting job this year, as the Hawks replaced him late last year with Josh Smith so that Al Horford could play power forward instead of center. The Hawks’ are at their best when Williams is in the starting lineup, period.

Atlanta Hawks: Fun with numbers
Hoopdata.com has updated its stats through last night’s games and they reveal that the Hawks are the best team in the league.
After two games. Against bad opponents.
OK, it doesn’t mean much. But what’s the harm in my blog people looking at these lovely numbers before reality rears its (potentially disappointing) head?
The Hawks are No. 1 in defensive efficiency...
Is "good" no longer good enough?
The Hawks share some connective tissue with two of this week's opponents. And when you examine how Atlanta tangentially relates to the Washington Wizards and New Jersey Nets, it's actually not too pretty of a picture, given that the Wizards and Nets will almost surely be drafting in the 2012 lottery while the Hawks make yet another trip to the playoffs but both teams are...

The Hawks are good, but is it good enough?
Compare the Hawks to two of their opponents this week the Washington Wizards and New Jersey Nets and it's not too pretty of a picture. The Wizards and Nets will almost surely be drafting in the 2012 lottery, while the Hawks will make yet another trip to the playoffs, but both teams are more promising and, somehow, more relevant than Atlanta.
Remember the 2008 playoffs when...
Atlanta Hawks at Rockets: Game thread
The Hawks are using their normal starting lineup. All players except Kirk Hinrich (shoulder) are available.
There could be a Twin sighting tonight. “The first three games we didn’t play Jason Collins, who was a big part of what we did last season,” Larry Drew said. “I want to preserve him but at the same time I want to make sure I keep him in basketball shape...
Houston Rockets 95, Atlanta Hawks 84
The Hawks came out a little flat tonight and the Rockets whacked them pretty good. Al Horford (15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot) and Joe Johnson (15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots) led the way for the Hawks tonight. Tracy McGrady was very effective off the bench tonight with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist in 25 minutes on the...
Kirk Hinrich gone but presence with Wizards still felt
The Wizards avoided facing Kirk Hinrich when they got trounced by 18 points on Wednesday in Atlanta, but that didn’t necessarily mean that his presence wasn’t felt.
Hinrich has been sidelined since early November as he recovers from surgery to remove a cyst and repair the labrum in his left shoulder and feels like he’s only “got one foot in” with the Hawks since he can’t...
Hawks-Rockets Preview
DAN PIERINGER STATS Writer The Atlanta Hawks proved in their first two games that they blow out opponents. In their last contest, they showed they can pull out close wins, too.
After surviving their first tightly-contested game, the Hawks look to move to 4-0 for the third time in four seasons Saturday night when they open a three-game road trip against the Houston Rockets.
