Last season when I heard the Celtics had acquired Sasha Pavlovic, I was actually pretty excited. My experience watching Sasha was when he was with the Cavaliers and seemed to be killing the Celtics with deep 3′s and clutch jumpers to keep his team in games that otherwise the Celtics would have walked away with. Perhaps Danny Ainge is looking for a shooting guard or a center, since the Celtics more or less don’t have a backup at either position. I’d still like Boston to pursue another small forward — read my post about the need for Marquis Daniels to remain healthy — but at this point Posey might not be as productive as Sasha Pavlovic (*dodges full beer thrown by Celtics fan*)...

Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce could be in jeopardy of missing the season opener against the New York Knicks on Christmas Day because of a heel injury.
Pierce suffered the bruised heel in the Celtics' first practice and he been watching on the sidelines since. He will not play in Wednesday's preseason finale against the Toronto Raptors.
