Found June 13, 2012 on Pass The Pill:

The Miami Heat may have more to fear than the two-headed monster duo that is Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Or their wardrobes for that matter. Depending on what you believe, the Heat may have visitors staying with them by way of the invisible. That’s right ghosts…

The Miami Heat are staying in the century-old Skirvin Hilton. Why you ask? Well, Oklahoma City doesn’t have a fancy Ritz Carlton or some other highfalutin hotel. As described by the SunSentinel,

“The hotel’s original owner, W.B. Skirvin, had an affair with a maid that resulted in a pregnancy. Supposedly, to protect his reputation she was locked in a room on the 10th floor. According to the tale, not recorded at the time in any manner, she grew despondent and eventually jumped out a window with the baby in her arms.”

“Since then? Strange noises and other reports of paranormal activity. Or not. But plenty of NBA legend, from Boston Celtics forward Brandon Bass insisting on a nightlight for his stays to Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson reporting his bathroom door mysteriously slamming in the middle of the night.”

This would give me an eerie feeling if I were staying in this hotel. I’ve seen my share of scary movies derived from hotels, no thank you. Udonis Haslem had this to say about the haunted hotel:

“I’m a pretty good guy, man. I respect everybody’s space,” he said. “If that’s the ghost’s room and they come pop up on me like that and he says it’s his spot, he can have it. There’s plenty other rooms. “I don’t want to be in a room where somebody died or was locked up for 10 years or whatever the story’s supposed to be. I don’t want that room.”

Heat forward Shane Battier had a different perspective:

“I’m such a heavy sleeper,” he said. “I have two kids, so I’ve learned to feign a deep sleep so my wife has to wake up with the kids. It’s going to take a little more than a ghost to wake me up in the middle of the night.”

Judging on Battier’s first game, the “ghosts” have made a positive impact on his offensive scoring. Stay tuned as the Heat may have to give Bill Murray and the rest of the Ghostbusters a call if things get out of hand at the ole’ haunted hotel!

Washington 1 of 2 states that don’t want the Thunder to win the NBA Finals (Photo)

If I told you only two states (according to a totally scientific ESPN.com poll) wanted the Miami Heat to win the NBA Finals, do you think you could guess them correctly? Obviously, Florida would be one of your answers. But what about the other? Oh right, it would be Washington. You know, the state the Thunder used to play in as the Seattle Sonics before they were mercilessly ripped...

LeBron hoping to make up for last year

LeBron James has been criticized his whole career for not stepping up when it really matters. That’s the price you pay when some call you the best in the world. Well, game one of the 2012 NBA Finals is in the book and the story brings back lots of memories. Unstoppable tonight. Look familiar? (Reuters) Of playoffs past. Of LeBron James.
