Former Kentucky Wildcat, Darius Miller was a crucial part of the 2012 National Championship winning team’s success. A homegrown talent from Maysville, Kentucky dreamed of becoming a ‘Cat from a very young age. From winning a state championship, to Mr. Basketball, to National Champion, and now a professional basketball player.
Miller appears to be coming into his own after being sent to the NBA’s Developmental League for 11 games. As the New Orleans Hornets 2nd round pick, he was joined in the Big Easy by #1 overall draft pick and fellow Kentucky Wildcat Anthony Davis. Miller came off the bench in the Hornets 98-96 win over the Portland Trail-Blazers on Sunday. He scored 8 points, including a clutch 3-pointer that sparked a New Orleans 9-2 run. Miller made 2 of his 3 shots, and had 3 assists for a Hornets team that is desperate for bench production.
You can’t say enough about Darius Miller in the eyes of a Kentucky fan. He is the Kentucky kid, that is living the dream. He got to wear the blue and white, win a championship and play in the NBA. It’s only right for Miller to do nothing but succeed on basketball’s highest level. He’s always been a winner, and continues to be with the Hornets. Keep working hard, Darius. We’re proud of you! #BBN #WeAreUK
